Hello again and Merry Christmas Questioners and Answerers!?

Not ‘what is the best present that you have received?’, instead;

What is the best present that you have given?
Are you a good gifter?

(I’m going to have to think about it, but I do think that I’m rather good at choosing presents)

crazyH Sun 23-Jan-22 23:22:49

Yes I think so, because I saw one on my walk, the other day.

Have you got a phobia? Mine is the Dentist. Even the thought of ringing them for an appointment makes me anxiou

FannyCornforth Mon 24-Jan-22 02:22:27

Not a phobia, but I’ve got Generalized Anxiety Disorder which means I worry all of time
(H -just thinking about the dentist made you drop your ‘s’!)

Are you worried about anything at the moment?
I’m having an injection in my spine next Sunday. I’m worrying about that now

biglouis Mon 24-Jan-22 03:51:21

Im worried about rising gas prices as I have arthritis and have to keep warm.

Have you ever sold or given away anything on freecycle of similar? I hear a lot of bad tales about people messing about and not coming when they have promised.

BBbevan Mon 24-Jan-22 03:55:15

Not really worried but I am impatient. I sent one of my books to a publisher nearly six months ago so should be hearing from them soon. Probably a rejection but I hate the wait. It makes me cross with everyone.

Are you happy with your own company?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Mon 24-Jan-22 12:07:53

Yes, which is just as well as I spend a lot of time alone.

Do you feel you put up with a lot of everyday niggles? What's niggling you today?

ginny Mon 24-Jan-22 13:10:39

Two things.
People who ask for an opinion and then get stroppy when you don’t give the right one.

People who ask you if you would like to go on a trip/outing and then expect you to arrange it all.

I wear slippers in the house during the winter. What do you wear to keep your feet warm ?

biglouis Mon 24-Jan-22 14:59:54

I wear flip flops and wooly socks

Do you always have to search when you want a pen or pencil?

For that reason I tend to keep one handy in every room.

crazyH Mon 24-Jan-22 15:06:53

No - I always have one in my handbag and my handbag is always by my sofa.

Does this type of weather make you lethargic? I have done nothing this morning except have a cup of tea with a visiting neighbour.

AGAA4 Mon 24-Jan-22 15:26:04

I was very lazy yesterday but have forced myself to go out and also to clean the bathroom. It was a bit of an effort.

Do you have noisy neighbours?

Grandpajo Mon 24-Jan-22 16:13:45

No they are both really quiet.

Have you always had a dog,cat or some kind of pet?

henetha Mon 24-Jan-22 19:06:21

I've had Wiggy for years now. She's about 13.

Do you still buy magazines/newspapers, or do you prefer to read them online now?

BBbevan Mon 24-Jan-22 20:49:58

Always buy the Sunday papers, though we have to drive some way to get them. No delivery around here.

What is or was your favourite magazine.?

Grandpajo Tue 25-Jan-22 02:11:58

Motorcycle News

What is your favourite TV series of all time?

FannyCornforth Tue 25-Jan-22 02:17:15

Private Eye. I’ve subscribed for over 20 years. I love it and always get a bit excited when it arrives.

Used to love Vogue in the 80s and 90s. Not anymore.

I’ve recently started a subscription to The Oldie on the recommendation of Rufus (late of this parish).

And also Readers Digest, which I didn’t even realise existed anymore!

Same question - magazines?

FannyCornforth Tue 25-Jan-22 02:17:35

Ooh cross post!

FannyCornforth Tue 25-Jan-22 02:18:31

Brookside.
Or Alan Bleasdale’s GBH. Genius

FannyCornforth Tue 25-Jan-22 02:21:53

Do you ever have a snack in the middle of the night?

BBbevan Tue 25-Jan-22 04:21:00

No never. But now you make me think of it I have a Danish pastry in the larder!!!

DH eats a lot of cheese. Are you partial and if so what is your favourite?

FannyCornforth Tue 25-Jan-22 05:50:48

Yes, I love cheese. All types really. I like gooey things like Brie and Camembert; Saint Agur; Edam; smoked Austrian; lovely nutty gruyere… mmm…

Stinking Bishop ( bought from Chatsworth farm shop ) was a cheese too far though; it even stank the car out.
I tried a teeny tiny bit and threw it away. It was vile, a bit like wee! envy

Potatoes; Rice or Pasta?
If you could eat only one for the rest of your life?

BBbevan Tue 25-Jan-22 07:23:45

Not allowed any of those as reversed diabetic. But mashed potato if pushed.

Is there anything you cannot eat?

henetha Tue 25-Jan-22 10:04:34

Yes, kidneys. Can't bear the thought of it. Also not keen on prawn curry although I love both separately. Fish and curry don't go, in my humble opinion.

Do you prefer white or brown bread? Toastie bread, or a Danish, or bread rolls?

hollysteers Tue 25-Jan-22 12:17:11

Fresh white rolls and butter. My mother said fresh bread is nicer than cake and I agree with her.

Are you doing anything for Burns Night?

BBbevan Tue 25-Jan-22 17:03:46

No we are Welsh so I don’t really know what you do. Other than eat Haggis and recite Burns.?

Do you celebrate anything other than Christmas or Easter.?

AGAA4 Tue 25-Jan-22 20:00:29

No apart from special birthdays where we all get together.

What would you like to do for your next 'big' birthday?

FannyCornforth Wed 26-Jan-22 05:31:09

I had a ‘big birthday’ a week ago today.
Apart from my virtual big bash at Tarn Castle I did diddly squat for it.
I’m hoping to celebrate properly later in the year with a more than well earned trip to Northumberland. When DH’s breathing is better, and I’ve had my hip replacement.???

Do you wear hats? I love hats and I think that they suit me, but they make me too hot
Also, do you feel the cold? I don’t
