Wish my son would come back from his job interview it's really cold in this car

I'm thinking I need a lie down after completing a cognitive function test against the clock for Biobank. Interestingly enough, one of the questions before the test was "Have you felt anxious or nervous this week?". I didn't then, but I definitely do now.

Am thinking how lucky l am to be surrounded by a loving family.

Grandpajo Sat 08-Jan-22 11:00:06

Should ring my sister for a nice long chat.

I'm wondering why I haven't heard from my son this morning. He usually texts me to check I am ok.

I’m thinking that I wished I hadn’t made the remark to a friend that the only person I remembered who lived in a certain road in our village a few years ago was a crazy woman with awful dogs, because of course he said ‘yes that’s her, she’s my date tonight…….’ Then of course the elephant in the room was that she was literally half his age and his wife was only buried recently. God what an evening. Spent most of the evening trying to talk about something that she would be old enough to know about or be interested in.

I'm now thinking I've just got time for a comforting soak in the bath before the weekly family zoom quiz. I can't believe it's taken me most of the day to take all the Christmas decs down and put them away. I'm sure it used to be an hour of a job.

I bet it was better than the bulgogi syle banana blossom with crispy tofu served up by DH and Mindful Chef tonight. To be fair, I chose the recipe, thinking it sounded a bit different. It certainly was that. grin

Well, duly scoffed but unimpressed. Found it decidedly boring. Wouldn't have guessed there was no meat in tbere. When I read the list of contents I was thoroughly unimpressed. Ever so long and many items (?) I've never heard of. I wouldn't buy again even at the crazy price of 10p. It was originally £2:50.

Plantain cutlet ?

Hope you enjoy itsmile.I'm having a plant pioneers burger made of peas protein, onions and parsley. Last time it was lovely with onions ketchup couldn't tell the difference smile

Plantain cutlet ?

Kim19 Thu 06-Jan-22 16:34:07

I'm having a 'plantain' cutlet for tea and currently experiencing a mixture of nervousness and curiosity. No, I'm not venturing into any new trendy eating regime. The price was right!

I must crack on with all the jobs I have to do. Maybe tomorrow...

Marydoll Thu 06-Jan-22 15:59:23

That I forgot to tint my blond eyebrows, prior to meeting my new, young consultant tomorrow.
I don't want to be mistaken for an old biddy!!! wink

I'm thinking about how much I dislike January.

Assisted by Mr A I just made bread pudding. I now know why Gordon Ramsay is a highly paid chef and I'm not. His sous chef doesn't wander round pointing out where you made a mess, his sous chef will clean it up.

There may be one or two other reasons as well, of course.

Grandpajo Tue 04-Jan-22 18:22:05

Thinking I forgot to give the dog a wash and haircut after the muddy walks he's been on.

MissAdventure Tue 04-Jan-22 17:53:54

I'm thinking I could learn a tune before the big grandson goes home, if I tried.
I'm not going to, though.

Maggiemaybe Tue 04-Jan-22 17:33:53

I’m thinking that the young man who charged me for my eye test when I’m nearer 70 than 60 should have gone to Specsavers. grin

DanniRae Mon 03-Jan-22 12:32:17

Why did we but so many mince pies? I am trying to eat healthily but those mince pies have got to be eaten. One a day will be ok - I hope grin

henetha Mon 03-Jan-22 11:17:12

That I'm getting bored now. I might allow myself to go to a supermarket after the children go back to school...which I think is tomorrow.
The new year stretches ahead and I'd like to do something different this year... not sure what.

BBbevan Mon 03-Jan-22 09:44:45

That I’m glad we went out on an early morning walk. Cold out though. Nice and warm indoors and DH just making us a coffee. Feel quite virtuous.

Ailidh Mon 03-Jan-22 06:55:22

I'm thinking that a fortnight today I'm moving to my forever home at the coast, and that although I've loved giving myself a. Christmas break from packing and cleaning and cancelling things, I'd better get on with it all. After this coffee...

Ali08 Mon 03-Jan-22 05:59:59

I'm thinking about transplants, wondering if they could do a stomach transplant one day?
I'm so sick of actually being sick, of not enjoying food anymore as I'm scared it'll all end up down the loo in the middle of the night!
Wishing I was one of the 'season ticket holders' that seem to fill up all the spaces at my doctors day after day after day!
I have Barratts Oesophagus, and far too much bile in my stomach for any human!!
Oh well, at least I'm still breathing.

Maggiemaybe Sun 02-Jan-22 14:16:32

I’m thinking that I was right to go out for a brisk walk even though it was raining. I feel slightly better now about those chocolates I scoffed instead of lunch.

crazyH Sun 02-Jan-22 13:53:30

I’m thinking I must go to Church this evening -slackened recently but must make the effort - so much to thank God for.
