Hello All! ? ?
I’ve tried to be more grammatically correct with the title this time.

Do you enjoy musical theatre?
??
Which is your favourite?

I love Jesus Christ Superstar; Cabaret; Oliver!; Sweeney Todd; Oklahoma
I could go on and on…

SachaMac Sun 12-Jun-22 17:24:46

I used to have a flutter on the Grand National but not now. I very occasionally buy a scratch card but stopped doing the weekly lottery a long time ago.

If you have fish & chips do you prefer cod or haddock or do you just get a fish cake? It’s got to be haddock for me.

I am a planner by nature. I like to feel control and dont like leaving things to chance. I always have plans B and C.

In the same vein are you ever tempted to gamble in some (small (way? Horses, cards, internet etc?

As a kid I used to have a "flutter" on the Grand National because we lived close to the course. As an adult it does not attract me at all which is fortunate because I spent a year living in Las Vegas when I worked at uni of Nevada. It does fascinate me watching other people gamble.

We have a gardener who looks after all the gardens here.

Are you a spontaneous person or do you think things through before doing anything?

ginny Sun 12-Jun-22 11:23:59

Yes and so did our children and our Grandchildren still enjoy them.

We all have wonderful memories of them. .Even the times when we needed a windbreak and tarpaulin on the beach !
When we go on holiday , our daughters or our neighbours are happy to water the garden for us.
Do you have someone who will water your garden while you are away?

Bellanonna Sun 12-Jun-22 09:45:04

Because we are members, it’s usually to visit NT houses, mainly visiting the handful within easy reach but seeing the gardens in different seasons.

Did you have lots of bucket and spade holidays as a child? (We did and I loved them all).

MrsKen33 Sun 12-Jun-22 07:37:04

Yes we do. Living in Wales there are lots of castles. Our favourite is Gwydyr castle in N Wales.

What might yours be ?

FannyCornforth Sun 12-Jun-22 07:11:28

Only when it’s done really, really well. Which you don’t often see.
We often go to Chatsworth and it’s got lots of wobbly looking elongated pear things, all leaning different ways.

Do you like going to stately homes?

MrsKen33 Sun 12-Jun-22 05:58:33

I have an Amazon jungle! Though I often do some topiary.

We had a large topiary dog near us. Cut down now. Do you like topiary?

hollysteers Sun 12-Jun-22 02:08:41

Madeira, with a go around, banking over the sea. It was the beginning of a flying phobia for me (over it now). Ironically, my daughter is cabin crew manager for BA long haul flights.

Do you have a Brazilian, landing strip (see above?) or let nature takes its course?

biglouis Sun 12-Jun-22 00:51:51

Im not going on holiday as such (mobility issues) but will probably go to stay with relatives for a change.

What was the worst flight you ever made?

Mine was back in the 1970s when jumbo jets were new. Landing at Hong Kong where the airport strteches out into the sea and planes come in over the water. Then considered one of the worlds most dangerous airports. I thought we were going to hit the tower blocks at the end of the runway!

MiniMoon Sun 12-Jun-22 00:32:36

That would be a vase.

MiniMoon Sun 12-Jun-22 00:31:58

My husband often buys cut flowers for the house. I am of the same opinion as my Grandma. Whenever she saw flowers in a case she said "poor dead things." I'd rather see them in the garden.

We have recently returned from a holiday in Sorrento.
Have you been, or are you going on holiday this year?

Bellanonna Sat 11-Jun-22 19:58:32

Definitely in the countryside - my favourite place to be

Do you regularly buy flowers for indoors or just sometimes?

crazyH Sat 11-Jun-22 19:52:36

Countryside, I mean

crazyH Sat 11-Jun-22 19:52:19

Seascapes for me too ❤️- I was born and brought up in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. The beach was just a 3 minute walk from home. You could actually smell the salt in the air. It’s all just a memory now, a beautiful memory …..
On the same note…..do you prefer a walk on the seashore/promenade or a walk in the country ?

AGAA4 Sat 11-Jun-22 19:11:27

I usually just have a cup and of tea after my meal.

Do you like pictures that pull you in. The ones where you would just love be to be there. Seascapes always make me feel that way.

MrsKen33 Sat 11-Jun-22 17:25:04

Always have a cafetière. Two cups a day.

What do you drink with your evening meal.? We have red wine sometimes but I usually drink water, DH often has a Staropramen

SachaMac Sat 11-Jun-22 09:39:28

I used to collect the Wade Whimsies, I also collected rubbers (or erasers now) I recently gave my last Whimsie to my youngest GS, it’s a hedgehog and they have a hedgehog nesting under their shed at the moment so he’s thrilled.

Do you drink instant, percolated or cafetière coffee or have sone kind of coffee machine. I have a Tassimo, I just love my morning coffee from that, rarely drink instant now

FannyCornforth Sat 11-Jun-22 06:12:57

‘Morning all smile
That sounds fabulous Molly

Our garden is cottagey with lots of evergreens.
Everything is quite old fashioned.
I designed it and DH ‘did’ it.
I must admit that we did a jolly good job, especially as neither of us know anything about gardening.
It backs onto fields and parkland.
It’s the best thing about the house.
I’d like to have a look at yours Louis!

I recently started a thread about Wade Whimsies.
Did you or your dc collect anything like that when you were young?

biglouis Sat 11-Jun-22 03:11:49

No - just a boring leafy suburb here. Nothing special.

Do you have decking or a flagged patio at your house?

I have several little bits of lawn and it doesnt make sense so Im thinking of getting it all flagged or covered in some way to save on a gardener.

MrsKen33 Fri 10-Jun-22 19:02:05

Michele Riondino in Sicily somewhere

How about you?

Mollygo Fri 10-Jun-22 18:41:34

Been to the pool, hung kit out to dry, walked the dog, worked for 3 hours then cooked dinner. It’s still so lovely out that we’ll be walking the dog along the estuary later if the tide’s out.

People stop outside our house to photo amazing sunsets. Do you get a good view of sunset or sunrise where you are?

crazyH Fri 10-Jun-22 18:29:39

Yes - I had piano lessons and went up to Grade 8. But I haven’t had a piano for yonks. However, my son has one for his boys and I tinkle on it when I visit. I don’t have piano hands - small span and could never have be one a pianist ?

Have you made good use of the sun today? Been to the beach? Washed loads of clothes? Barbecue? I just sat on my garden bench and watched the world go by.

SachaMac Fri 10-Jun-22 18:22:26

Me neither, although I dabble at things and try my best. I don’t play musical instruments, sing or exceed in any sport. I have great ideas though & I make a great Victoria sandwich!! smile

Did you or do you wish you had learnt to play a musical instrument as a child. I’d have loved to have had piano lessons.

henetha Fri 10-Jun-22 18:08:03

Tom Hanks. He comes over, in the many interviews I've seen him give, as pleasant, interesting, funny and charming. Where? Bovey Castle in Devon.

Do you feel you have a great talent, or are you gifted or particularly good at anything? I'm not ☹️
