Hello All! ? ?
I’ve tried to be more grammatically correct with the title this time.

Do you enjoy musical theatre?
??
Which is your favourite?

I love Jesus Christ Superstar; Cabaret; Oliver!; Sweeney Todd; Oklahoma
I could go on and on…

Beautful Sat 16-Jul-22 23:48:03

Yes I have on a few occasions ... naughty of me , one such occassion was when I was staying at
my daughter & son in law's while they were on holiday, I saw my Son in law's mom & dad come , so I went out of the lounge & went under the stairs with the dog ! smile Why you must wonder ... as often I won't get dressed if I am staying in, yes have a wash & change night clothes ... still had night clothes on during the day !!! Yes told my daughter ! smile

Have you ever been arrested ? May I add I haven't

biglouis Sat 16-Jul-22 21:41:24

Yes we have quite nice tap water in my part of the country.

Have you ever pretended not to be in when an unwelcome visitor arrived without notice?

I am a true "mumsnetter" and dont even answer the door unless Im expecting somone or a delivery. I have cctv back and front.

SachaMac Sat 16-Jul-22 18:52:29

Yes I have gone right off cooking. I’ve had to though as I have had some Gousto recipe meals delivered this week & they really need using up. I’d be quite happy with a sandwich or a salad when it’s as hot as this.

Do you drink plain tap water?
I’m not a fan so add a little low sugar fruit squash to my water bottle.

I have made Christmas cards in the past (sorry to mention the 'c' word) but I think you have to be sure that the recipient is also arty - they aren't always appreciated, are they?

Have you gone off the idea of cooking/preparing meals and eating in this heat?

ginny Sat 16-Jul-22 13:32:20

Maybe not for a walk. I will be doing any house jobs early for the next few days or maybe I won’t bother.
Out for lunch on Monday with friends and we have visitors on Tuesday. So far these are still going ahead.

I have just painted a card for a friends birthday. Do you give handmade cards or gifts ?

MrsKen33 Sat 16-Jul-22 12:41:46

No. saw the heat wave coming so have made no plans. Will venture out at the end of the week, all being well.

We went for a walk at 7 this morning. Lovely out and quiet a few people also.
Might you do something similar in this hot weather?

Bellanonna Sat 16-Jul-22 11:20:37

Yes, I love to, hollysteers

Is anyone keeping plans they’ve made to go somewhere on Monday or Tuesday?

hollysteers Sat 16-Jul-22 10:34:29

I’m on the coast, last road before the sea, so it’s often fresh here, but will just turn on an electric fan. It’s won’t last too long so not bothered.

Do you like visiting museums and galleries?

Mollygo Sat 16-Jul-22 10:27:57

Our dog has had a trim, she joins me in the shower more often and I’ve filled her pool.
I’ve changed the sheets and found the remote control for the fan. My plant misters are chilling in the fridge-for us, not the plants and I’ve filled our watering cans in case there’s a hosepipe ban.
As I’ve posted elsewhere, I’m glad I’ll be teaching in an air conditioned room next week.

FannyCornforth Sat 16-Jul-22 09:46:07

DH has lots of health problems, so I’m very concerned.
We will be taking rehydration supplements.
I’ve banned him from going outside after today.
I’ve bought an air cooler which is arriving today.
I’ve also got lots of brilliant fans, including hand held.
Half a dozen cans of cooling spray.
I’ve got microfibre sheets to sleep under.
I might sleep downstairs as my room is baking hot.
And our cat (an extremely hairy Maine Coon) has been shorn!

What about you?

biglouis Sat 16-Jul-22 09:35:37

I would probably stick with chilled white wine as thats what I prefer to drink.

Have you made any special preparations for next monday and tuesday's forecast heat wave? We are in Manchester so within the red zone.

I dont go out much anyway (mobility issues) and my nephew usually walks here on tuesdays but I told him I was happy to swap to wednesday. I will just keep all the blinds closed and plenty of fans on.

SachaMac Sat 16-Jul-22 08:27:47

I am a little, more because it means I can’t walk my lovely little Border Terrier at the usual times and he is a creature of routine. I will have to get up exceptionally early before it warms up or go out later when it’s cooled down. I’ve already had a text from Severn Trent to say don't use the hose pipe etc so the garden is going to suffer.

I’m going to a garden party later today, just pondering over what alcoholic
drink to take. G&T, Prosecco or a couple of cold beers (I’m not driving)
What would you take?

FannyCornforth Sat 16-Jul-22 06:15:46

Oh loads Ken
I rarely listen to music now because it’s too emotive.

Nimrod always makes me cry.

I Miss You by Everything But The Girl reminds me terribly of a lost love. It’s like a punch in the stomach.
Ditto Cole Porter’s Night and Day, especially U2’s version.

There are songs that make me think about how much I love DH.

Songs that remind me of my mom. (And I love her & Yesterday by The Beatles)

Days by The Kinks / Kirsty McColl reminds me of a friend who said that it reminded her of me.

I could go and on! ? Sniff

I’m really worried about the forthcoming weather. ?
Are you?

MrsKen33 Sat 16-Jul-22 05:26:23

I had a hysterectomy when I was 35. In those days,10 days in hospital and 6 weeks convalescing. Offer also of 2weeks at a convalescent home in Bournemouth which I didn’t take up. I preferred to be at home.

Is there a piece of music or song that makes you cry? Mine at the moment is ‘Chasing cars’ No idea why

biglouis Fri 15-Jul-22 13:41:21

No never broken a limb (thank heavens) although at 77 I dread the thought of falling and having to go into hospital because I live alone. Thats often the end for an older person as they will not discharge you if there is no one to look after you.

Have you ever had a serious operation?

Ive managed to avoid all but minor hospital procedures.

henetha Fri 15-Jul-22 11:11:49

Yes, I fell one January day a few years ago. I laid there, feeling the ice creeping into my back, and was wondering how on earth I was going to get up. Lots of cars passed me, and finally a taxi driver stopped and helped me and took me home.

Have you ever broken a limb? I haven't. Just one sprained wrist once.. that was painful enough!

lovebeigecardigans1955 Fri 15-Jul-22 08:46:13

I hate snow, it looks nice when it's untrodden or on a Christmas card but I hate going out in it.

Have you ever fallen over on snow or ice?

Beautful Thu 14-Jul-22 23:53:45

Don't usually drink fruit juice , but I will drink it with or without bits when I do

I love the snow ❄️, do you like the snow ?

Mollygo Thu 14-Jul-22 23:21:49

Open the post, have a cuppa then collect the dog. If we’re in a gîte I bring the washing back ready done and send it for ironing (I know . . . but it keeps someone in a job.)
If we’ve flown, unpack the dirty washing suitcase and bung the contents in the machine.

Fruit juice with bits or without?

ginny Thu 14-Jul-22 20:04:38

Silver or white gold for me.

We have just returned from a holiday. Washing out on the line.
What is the first thing you do when you get back from a holiday ?

hollysteers Thu 14-Jul-22 19:52:23

I’m a maximalist. Paintings, books, flowers, sculptures etc. are what I like around me.

Do you prefer gold or silver jewellery for yourself?

MrsKen33 Thu 14-Jul-22 19:52:07

Interesting bits. Stones, pebbles, sea glass, bits of wood, shells, big bowl of old bits of pottery we have found in the garden.

Same question but related to gardens please

biglouis Thu 14-Jul-22 17:28:13

Its not too hot here today (north) but Im still keeping out of the sun and having plenty to drink.

Do you prefer minimalism or a room with interesting nick nacks?

Nicknacks for me any day.

crazyH Thu 14-Jul-22 16:45:11

No, my world is small - I worry about things nearer home - family and friends.

I’m struggling in this heat - how are you coping ?

DanniRae Thu 14-Jul-22 15:05:41

Yes, when I see things that happened in 2019 or earlier I think "Wow, we never knew what was ahead of us then!" I guess it was just as well because we couldn't side step any of it, could we?

Same question, please smile
