Hello! ?

By my reckoning, this thread will see us through until we are near to C********!

SachaMac’s question was ‘if you could travel back to any time or place for one day, where / when would it be’?

I’m still mulling it over…

henetha Wed 05-Oct-22 10:38:39

I used to be a worrier but have gradually turned into more' que sera sera' person. Most of the time anyway.

Do you weigh yourself at home? I used to but when the scales broke I decided not to replace them as they annoyed me by telling me lies about my weight.

DanniRae Wed 05-Oct-22 09:07:10

Definitely a worrier!

Same question please...

crazyH Tue 04-Oct-22 23:45:23

I don’t have a smart meter. But, I do take regular readings

Are you a worrier or a ‘Que sera sera’ type of person?

SachaMac Tue 04-Oct-22 23:14:50

No but I’d hate it if they had. Luckily I have considerate neighbours who would always ask first.

Have you a smart meter & are you finding yourself constantly checking it since the fuel costs have gone up.

biglouis Tue 04-Oct-22 23:06:15

I love cheshire and wensleydale

Have you ever had a neighbours work people come onto your property without notice or permission?

I have - it began a war between us when she told me I was "only a tenant" and she didnt need my permission.

ginny Tue 04-Oct-22 19:48:38

Noise. Not those like children laughing or friends enjoying my chat .
The one like continual background noise and all the things that ping and beep.

I’ve just eaten some lovely strong cheddar cheese. What is your favourite cheese ?

hollysteers Tue 04-Oct-22 18:18:06

I liked it a few weeks ago when it wasn’t too hot or cold.
If it had stayed like that, it would have suited me.

What do you like less and less as you get older?

DanniRae Tue 04-Oct-22 14:38:25

A couple of years ago I bought several pairs of thermal leggings from good old M&S. As soon as it gets cold I wear them under my trousers and they keep my legs really lovely and warm.
What do you prefer really hot weather or really cold weather?
I prefer really cold weather as I so dislike being really hot blush

MrsKen33 Tue 04-Oct-22 14:28:37

No need for any of that. I have a very warm DH.

Do you have thermal underwear for cold days ?

biglouis Tue 04-Oct-22 12:19:07

I like fleecy bedding too!

Have you ever used a hot water bottle or electric blanket?

I used both when I was younger and lived in a house with no central heating. Now I would find them too warm.

Mollygo Tue 04-Oct-22 09:10:05

Every time I get to a new season, I think I love it, but spring, when the days are getting longer, is probably best.

Fleecy bedding, no need to get between cold sheets. Do you like it?

HowVeryDareYou Tue 04-Oct-22 07:25:27

DH and I should have been going on a hot air balloon ride today. It's been cancelled. Taking the GC to Nottingham's famous Goose Fair tomorrow.

What season is your favourite (I prefer spring)

MrsKen33 Tue 04-Oct-22 05:33:20

My GCs used to live nearer and we had them very often for weekends and we took them on holiday several times. Now we are 5 hours drive away and they are in their teens so we don’t see so much of them. Sadly.

A wet week is forecast.Any plans ?

crazyH Mon 03-Oct-22 22:37:07

My eldest GS is 20 years old and youngest is 4 years old.

I love all my GC, but I, along with the other GP, practically brought up the eldest two, because parents were working and I was much younger…..So, I felt more of a parent than a GP. As a matter of fact, at the school gates, I was once asked if I was their mother. Those were the days !!

Have you done/ are you still involved in child care/school runs for any of your GC? These days, I just do the odd baby-sitting…..no regular child-care duties

ginny Mon 03-Oct-22 22:19:42

We like both . We have a caravan so self catering, we enjoy going to a cottage self catering. We also enjoy a cruise or an escorted tour in various hotels.
I think my least favourite is a holiday where you stay in just one hotel.

Our eldest DGS is just 20 years old and our youngest is 17 months.
What is the gap between your eldest and youngest Grandchild ?

SachaMac Mon 03-Oct-22 17:13:37

Yes we went to the Maldives & Jamaica all inclusive, the food was really good. In other places like Greece I like to go out & try different restaurants.

Do you prefer a self catering holiday or staying in a hotel (Uk & abroad)

biglouis Mon 03-Oct-22 16:20:23

I dont feel embarassed about anything. People take it as they find it and if they dont like it I will gladly show them the door!

Have you ever been on an "all inclusive" holiday?

I never have. I can see the attraction of everything laid on if you are a family with kids but its not for me.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Mon 03-Oct-22 15:37:07

I feel a little embarrassed with my efforts to recover a couple of chairs - they aren't too bad, but the project was a little too ambitious for me to do as well as I'd like. Also, I'm not houseproud enough to dust as often as I should.

Same question again please,

HowVeryDareYou Mon 03-Oct-22 12:59:01

Our leather settees. We got them about a year ago.

What are you embarrassed about in your house? (mine is my horrible bedroom)

DanniRae Mon 03-Oct-22 10:21:47

Oops here is my question:
What are you most proud of in your home?
We had 2 new doors fitted downstairs and they are so smart and I love them!

DanniRae Mon 03-Oct-22 10:19:36

My kitchen is about 40 years old (with a new ceramic hob as gas hob was leaking). It desperately needs renewing but I can't face the upheaval. Just before last Christmas the corner cupboard doors fell off but that doesn't look as bad as it sounds and so until maybe the oven stops working or something else major happens I am sticking with it blush

hollysteers Mon 03-Oct-22 10:06:16

Too many times to recall and so nice to recover “lost” things.

Do you have a new or old kitchen?

biglouis Sun 02-Oct-22 16:12:53

There is only me in my household and Ive had the same outdoor shoes for years.

Do you ever misplace things and find them in completely unexpected places (and wonder how they got there?)

Mollygo Sun 02-Oct-22 14:47:00

My inability to use my current phone as a remote so I can switch programs when DH is watching the gorier bits of the Godfather films.
Feel free to use the same question.
Or whose shoes last longest in your family?

henetha Sun 02-Oct-22 11:02:40

My own inability to fix things. It's something that drives me mad. Things break or go wrong, and I'm hopeless.

Same question as it's interesting.....
