Hello! ?

By my reckoning, this thread will see us through until we are near to C********!

SachaMac’s question was ‘if you could travel back to any time or place for one day, where / when would it be’?

I’m still mulling it over…

Love = live!

biglouis Mon 05-Sept-22 16:50:50

In a business sense Im glad it exists because I sell online and people buy stuff. In a personal sense I ignore it entirely and havnt celebrated it since 1979.

Do you put up decorations that can be seen from outside the house? Lights in windows/garden etc?

I love in an ethnic area but people here love their decorations!

DanniRae Mon 05-Sept-22 12:50:09

I dislike November too as all the bad stuff is ahead of us - I focus on the festival in December (C******s) to get me through it. Mr R dislikes February but I feel when we get there the light is at the end of the tunnel weatherwise.

Do you look forward to C*******s or wish it didn't exist?

ginny Mon 05-Sept-22 11:08:09

So far plans are, a short break in our caravan later this month. A cruise is booked for November.
Several visits arranged with friends and relatives.
A good clear up of my craft/ art room.
A couple of courses booked for the Autumn.

I have to keep busy throughout the Autumn and Winter as they are not my favourite seasons. I dislike November - March ( with the exception of C*******s). Is there a month that you particularly don’t like ?

henetha Mon 05-Sept-22 09:46:02

It's Malta for me. Too busy, too built up.

So now it's autumn, the children are back at school. Do you have any plans for the new season? A holiday? Insulation in the loft? Tidying the garden?

hollysteers Mon 05-Sept-22 09:18:43

I followed a Frenchwoman for style tips. Rather boring in fact, taking the less is more so far it’s a yawn.

Which place have you been to and thought overrated? (Versailles)

HowVeryDareYou Mon 05-Sept-22 07:24:04

I watch "Kay's Cooking" on YouTube. The lady can't cook, but she's friendly, homely and a trier. Her recipes are sometimes a little odd

SachaMac Sun 04-Sept-22 19:55:37

I enjoy a lie in and the chance to relax a little on a Sunday, it didn’t happen today but I’m making up for it now, feet up, candle glowing & just chilling.

Do you follow or regularly watch anyone on You Tube?

biglouis Sun 04-Sept-22 17:27:19

I dont use a body lotion.

Do you kick back a bit on sundays or treat it like any other day?

Ive just closed all my online shops and didnt get up til 11pm!!!

Having said that I didnt go to bed til 3 am.

MrsKen33 Sun 04-Sept-22 13:20:17

Used to have oily but now it is dry. DD gave me some super Finnish stuff for my face last week. It is lovely.

Do you use a body lotion and what is it? I have all sorts, from Nivea ,to L’Occitane ,to Jo Malone

hollysteers Sun 04-Sept-22 08:23:58

As I sing, one day jobs have been part of my life.

Do you have oily or dry skin?

HowVeryDareYou Sun 04-Sept-22 07:30:29

I've never done "quiet quitting" (never heard of it). I always did much more than my job description as a carer.

Have you ever been employed in a job for one day? I once worked in telesales for 2 mornings.

biglouis Sat 03-Sept-22 23:36:52

Not any more due to mobility issues but I used to enjoy the show gardens at flower shows and the like.

There is an interesting thread on "quiet quitting" in the chat category. It means just doing what you have to in work and no more. Sticking to your job description.

Have you ever done a version of "quiet quitting?"

I have.

ginny Sat 03-Sept-22 21:19:38

Garden no Harden. !!!

ginny Sat 03-Sept-22 21:18:58

Oops forgot the question.
We are going to see a garden tomorrow as part of the National Harden Scheme.
Do you enjoy looking around gardens ?

ginny Sat 03-Sept-22 21:17:32

No, we live in a cul de sac a way off the main street of a small town. If the wind is blowing from the east we can sometimes just about hear the traffic

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sat 03-Sept-22 17:22:42

No, thankfully. I can hear the traffic now and again, sometimes children playing next door but I don't see that as a problem.

Do you get much traffic noise?

AGAA4 Sat 03-Sept-22 16:41:30

I have seen Gene Pitney, David Gray, and Cliff Richard live. Not a fan of Cliff now.

Do you have any problems with dogs barking or other noise where you live?

HowVeryDareYou Sat 03-Sept-22 16:25:03

I'd go if I'd paid for tickets, and if the festival was going to be on concrete, not grass.

Have you seen any well-known bands/singers live? I saw The Rolling Stones at Wembley, 1990 I think

Mollygo Sat 03-Sept-22 11:33:55

Good luck with your parcel.
We’re threatened with rain, but there’s a festival on this weekend, so I hope not.

If there was a festival of some sort near you, would you go if it was raining?

MrsKen33 Sat 03-Sept-22 10:33:57

Yes we have. An excellent Sainsbury’s lady during lockdown and we had a very nice Polish girl doing Hermes. She has gone since it changed to Elvi , or whatever.
Royal Mail say they now have my parcel. Hey ho!
We are due lots of rain today. Are you?

biglouis Sat 03-Sept-22 10:12:03

It usually mean s that the driver was "unable to find the address" or "no answer" if a signature is required. Often the driver simply ran out of time to deliver all the parcels on their load and just put down some fairy story on the tracking.

Why cant they just tell the truth?

Have you ever had a female driver deliver your shopping? Just had my Tesco delivery and it was a woman. Said she used to drive a black cab!

MrsKen33 Sat 03-Sept-22 06:31:08

Yes we went on a cruise to Tromso just before lockdown.

Just been tracking a parcel. Say there has been an’issue’ with it. Whatever can that mean? Any ideas?

Mizuna Sat 03-Sept-22 06:26:11

Mr Tambourine Man sung by the young Bob Dylan. Still makes me tingle.

Have you seen the Northern Lights and where? I saw them in Cornwall.

biglouis Sat 03-Sept-22 00:21:45

Now Voyager with Bette Davis. Love it.

Whats your all time favorite record/song?

Mine is Edith Piaf - No Regrets.
