Hello!👋
Welcome to the new thread 😊
Julie Walters is playing the part of me (or Helena Bonham Carter, if I’m having a very good day) and Juliette Greco is playing MrsKen.
Which actress is playing the part of you?

I have brought myself a few little treats, cosmetics, a lovely candle and some wax melts and a nice leather handbag. I did order myself some new boots but they never arrived so I got a refund.
Will you be up early tomorrow or will you try and have a bit of a lie in.
I’ve always bought my own presents as DH is hopeless.
It suits both of us.
As soon as they arrive I give them to him and he squirrels them away.
As far as I can remember I’ve got:
A cardigan that was half price from White Stuff (beige and navy ILBC!
)
A gold charm bracelet from QVC.
A big bottle of Little Black Dress from Avon (cheap as chips but lovely)
Embroidered bed socks from Boden.
Same question OR what have you bought for others?
I bought myself a small pair of earrings from the supermarket - will they look cheap? Possibly, but the expensive ones would worry me if I lost them. And of course, I bought myself a new beige jumper.
Have you treated yourself to anything?
No I haven't bought myself anything. But I will in the January sales hopefully. A nice hoodie, or new boots maybe.
Same question please... as it's interesting.
Pressed send instead of return!
I’ve wrapped it and put it under the tree.
Same question please.
Yes I bought myself some foot pampering stuff.
Nothing bought as a present for Christmas as such. However I did buy some boots 👢 in the Black Friday sales so this might count?
Same question please.
I always get on with Sagittarius, my mom was one and so it DH.
I’m on the cusp between Capricorn and Aquarius.
I’ve definitely got elements of both. The quiet bits of the first, and the louder, creative parts of the latter.
Have you bought yourself a Christmas present?
Morning fFanny and Happy Christmas to everyone.
I am a Sagittarian Some traits I suppose. Quick, impatient, artistic and don’t suffer fools gladly
Same question please
Happy Christmas Eve Everyone!
Yes, I do like January. I like Winter full stop. And it’s my birthday month too
Which star sign are you?
Do you have its traits?
That should have read DD and not Dad.
No we usually swop around Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Dad doing Christmas lunch so we have a buffet on Boxing Day. Only five of us this year although I seem to have been expecting an army the amount of food I have .
I like the quiet days of January. Do you?
Quite often have had oldest son and wife over for lunch.
Not always But often have the day to ourselves on Boxing Day. Anyone else do that?
I had a Morrisons delivery, but there were things missing, so my husband will hopefully get those from Asda this evening.
Do you go out for a drink or anything on Christmas Eve? We'll meet both sons for a couple.
I’m laughing lovebeigecardigans1955 it was the Christmas decorations I don’t dust around not deodorants although it could apply😆 and yes to your question I am getting awfully lazy with regards to housework, I would always much rather be doing other things.
Have you still got any last minute shopping to do or are you all set and ready for a relaxing Christmas Eve. I think I’m finally finished.
Blimey SachaMac - dusting round the deodorants! Couldn't they go in a cupboard, then you could ignore them?
I try to ignore the wretched housework most of the time and I'm not going to wield a duster just because it's Christmas, lazy article that I am. I'll tidy up a bit if I'm expecting visitors or I feel a bit overwhelmed.
Is anyone else as lazy as me?
I went to make some toast earlier and had to have a slice and a crust so I need bread too. I do have a few cobs in the freezer. I also forgot to get dog food.
Do you feel you have to get your whole house extra clean and tidy before Christmas or are you more relaxed and think jobs can wait?
I used to try and get everywhere looking pristine before the big day but I haven’t got the energy or inclination now so it’s just the normal tidy up and I don’t bother dusting around all the decorations.
Yes I do, always. They are the people I love best so why wouldn't I? And they are so good to me, it's one way I can thank them.
Have you forgotten anything? I thought I had finished (Christmas shopping) but remembered this evening that I have only 2 slices of bread left.
Yes I do - just a token gift plus money
Same question
We ate a tub of Quality Street over the past 2 weeks.
Do you buy presents for your adult sons and daughters?
Just 5 of us this year as I’m going out to a restaurant with my eldest daughter and her husband and family. We will meet up with the rest of the family later at her house. The oldest person will be my mum at 87 and the youngest 5.
Have you started eating any of your Christmas goodies yet?
I’ve opened the roses tonight and had a few handfuls of mixed nuts last night whilst wrapping presents.
No, I’m not a sport watcher , live or on TV.
We have 11 people for Christmas lunch ranging from 1 year old to a 90 year old.
How many will you be and what age range ?
Elf will showing on Friday chez NotAGran , provided my son gets back from Iceland! It’s a family tradition here.
I’ve just listened to A Christmas Carol on audible and thoroughly enjoying it, so might try to find The Muppets film version to watch 🙂
Do you attend a sports event on Boxing Day? 🏇 🐎 or ⚽️
I do if family arrangements allow it, but luckily my team are playing the following day this year making it easier.
‘Morning Ken (it’s not really morning though, is it?)
Good-middle-of-the-night 🦉
I started a thread about Christmas TV and films, partly to give me inspiration.
I’m going through a cartoony phase. I watched Sing a couple of days ago, and last night it was The Secret Life of Pets, both by the same director.
I enjoyed them much more than I thought, I’m not usually a fan of children’s stuff, but they were much better than the usual Disney / Pixar things.
So I’m looking forward to Sing 2 and TSLOP 2.
I’m also rewatching the series Dickensian which is absolutely brilliant.
I have to keep things quite light hearted these days.
I’m looking forward to seeing the King Richard film, especially as I know someone who was invited in the dig.
A totally un-lighthearted film that I really recommend if you can stand a bit of violence (it’s just at the beginning) is The Outfit starring Mark Rylance.
It’s very theatrical and cinematic at the same time. It’s very interesting.
I chose it for MrC then ended up loving it myself.
I’m looking forward to seeing it again (but I think it’s on Sky, and Sky are playing silly beggars atm).
Ken I think that you’d enjoy it.
I think that 13 Lives (about the Thai cave rescue) is more widely
available, that is one of the best movies that I’ve ever seen, but the documentary called The Rescue was even better.
Gosh - what a long answer!
Same question please
Or is there anything that you seem to watch every Christmas, by design or accident?
