My nephews cat! Some of the tricks he gets up to are so funny. He has one of those electronic balls that you charge by USB and when it runs out he pushes it up to the nearest human and meows at them until they re-charge it. He also likes his fur to be brushed the "wrong" way.

Animals can be so funny.

As a native scouser I have a rather ironic sense of humour. I used to laugh at Jasper Carott, Bob Newhard and Jo Brand because of their dry humour.

What makes you laugh?

I never even tried to learn.
I’d a be nightmare on the road.
I’m far too nervous; terrified of running over birds etc; and have absolutely no sense of direction due to dyscalculia.
When I first met DH he was determined to teach me to drive, but he soon realised that I was right.
These days I’m so anxious that I don’t even like being a passenger

When was the last time you were on a train?

I cant remember the last time I wore make up!

How many lessons did you have to pass your driving test?

I never did pass mine. Just having lessons brought on panic attacks.

I've got 7 watches, all need a battery putting in. I use my mobile, too.

Do you wear make-up?

I haven’t got a ring type door bell but would like one, I called to drop some Christmas presents at a friends earlier this week and I was impressed with hers.

Do you still wear a wrist watch, I have some nice watches but rarely wear them now, I tend to rely on my I phone to check the time.

I would have been happy to go when employed as an academic (on full pay) but not once I becamse self employed. I told them I was mobility impaired and got excused. Im past the age now and ive done my bit for the country.

Have you got (or thought of getting) a ring type doorbell?

I would not be without mine. I can have an entire conversation and dismiss someone without getting up out of my chair. The app runs on tablet and phone.

Mine hang vertically on some gold thread fastened by little pegs or paper clips, on a wall.

Have you ever done jury service? I always wanted to but was never called. My son was though, in a very interesting case.

I will definitely be putting off outside jobs until it warms up a little. I’d quite happily stay indoors when it’s this cold but have to wrap up and take my dog out.

How do you display your Christmas cards? Ive got some hung up in the dining room on a line with tiny little clothes pegs but I also have some just dotted about on shelves.

I have no plans for next year yet.

The weather forecast is for warmer weather this coming weekend. Does this make you put off "outside" jobs until then? Or do you press ahead regardless?

Hello Ken I’m planning on us going on a lodge holiday in the Spring.
I’ve started looking at various places.
A park near Bakewell and Buxton is favourite so far, so that we don’t need to travel far.
It really annoys me that we are so far from the sea, but we do have amazing countryside here.
(A lot of ‘fars’ there)

What about you?

I would uphold anyone’s right to strike but I feel this is all a little co-ordinated. Always the general public who pay one way or the other. My postman was bemoaning the fact that they are not getting paid overtime to tackle the backlog of post. !!!!
So not terribly sympathetic.

Are you already making plans for next year? Or are you a’wait and see’ person?

I dont often go out nowadays but if I do its a taxi door to door. I always feel a bit anxious until I am safe back home.

Do you feel sympathy with any of the workers who are on strike even though it may cause you personal inconvenience?

I have to confess to indulging them occasionally, usually a chocolate bar or a cake rather than bags of sweets.

I’m going out for a meal tonight with a cousin, been arranged for a while, it’s absolutely freezing & the sky looks full of snow here. I’m thinking I’d be better off staying at home. Do you ever wish you hadn’t arranged to go out when it’s freezing cold & dark early but don’t like letting people down?

Snow-lovely to look at if you can stay indoors. Amazing for children who ignore the agony of cold wet hands to make a snowman. It’s not so much the snow as the frozen slush that follows that I hate.

Did you ever/would you still make snow angels?

I don't worry about Christmas as I have very little to do except turn up at a family member's home after lunch with some booze, a present, quiz and small prize for the winner. I only worry about the weather as I hate driving in snow.

How do you feel about snow? Do you dread it or feel excited about it?

Only chocolate. I just don't like sweets. But will make up for the lack of with chocolate! Bring it on!

Do you get scary feelings in the run up to Christmas? Scared that you won't be ready in time, or that you have forgotten something. Or that you can't cope? (I'm feeling like this now)

I liked sweets that hurt your mouth! So rhubarb and custard, lemon sherbets, sherbet dib dabs etc were my choice.

What are your favourite adult sweets?

Mine are a tube of wine gums at football, a Topic as an occasional treat and Bendicks Bittermints as a gift.

Like you I don’t have children or grandchildren, but if I did I wouldn’t take a hardline on something like that. Everything in moderation

What were your favourite sweets as a child?

There was an old fashioned sweetie shop around the corner from my Nan’s and I’d often have a little paper bag with ufos (melty paper things with sherbet in) or chocolate drops with sprinkles on.
