Hello!👋
Welcome to the new thread 😊

Julie Walters is playing the part of me (or Helena Bonham Carter, if I’m having a very good day) and Juliette Greco is playing MrsKen.

Which actress is playing the part of you?

biglouis Fri 24-Feb-23 11:45:26

I dont have a car and if I did I doubt if I would waste much time cleaning it. Prpbably pay a teenager to do it.

Have you ever kept kaolin and morphine in for upset stomachs and diarrhea? It is very good for stomach cramps but difficult to get now without prescription. Boots used to sell it.

AGAA4 Thu 23-Feb-23 17:03:07

Not since I downsized. I used to have a lot and a very large garden which took up too much time as I was still working then.

How often do you clean your car?

MrsKen33 Thu 23-Feb-23 11:28:03

Fanny that is lovely. Our living room is pretty bare but the hall is ‘Willow Bough’ and our big sofa ‘Marigold’ linen.

We have heaps of hose plants. My favourite at the moment is a little Chinese Money plant.

Do you have lots of potted plants outside?

FannyCornforth Thu 23-Feb-23 10:41:27

One wall is Morris & Co Golden Lily and the others are Morris & Co Standen in pale green.
Here is a picture.
The orchid arrangement was from my dad for my birthday last month.
Isn’t it fabulous!
My sofas are brown leather (I don’t like having leather, but it’s far more practical with pets) and I have a big pale turquoise rug and silver grey curtains.

I have a craving to buy some houseplants.
Which are your favourites?

Feeling ok but quite a lot of pain in my hip that needs replacing. Have been busy demonstrating a craft at our club and have a committee meeting this evening.

Our living room is decorated in burgundy , cream and green.
What colour is yours?

MrsKen33 Wed 22-Feb-23 15:31:57

My Mum always said to both my sister and myself ‘ Be careful ‘.
It was never elaborated on , but my sister was careful to the point of fearful and I was not.!

Same question please

AGAA4 Wed 22-Feb-23 15:00:49

My mum used to say Don't make a mountain out of a molehill and Leave well enough alone

Same question please.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Wed 22-Feb-23 12:41:33

No, as my dear old mum used to say - least said, soonest mended.

What good advice would your mum have offered?

crazyH Wed 22-Feb-23 10:55:31

Yes I did - felt sad though, because I’ve always had my 2 older grandchildren come over for Nan’s “best ever” pancakes , but they are now in University.

One of my friends is in Hospital following a fall/fracture. She didn’t have her reading glasses on. So, she asked me to open her mail and read out some of the letters. Most of them were Bank statements. But one of them was from the DWP, stating that she has been awarded Pension Credit. I was shocked, because I always thought she was quite ‘well-off’, which obviously she is not or she has lied on her PC application form or I have misread the letter. I know it’s none of my business, but should I ask her about it.

HowVeryDareYou2 Wed 22-Feb-23 10:50:19

I made pancakes for my son and me - he had raspberries and lemon with his. I had blueberries and squirty cream.

Do you do any/much exercise?

FannyCornforth Wed 22-Feb-23 10:31:58

It’s dull and wet here in Derbyshire today. But yesterday was lovely.
I had the back door open all day.
I fed the birds and there was a friendly fox knocking about in the field, which greatly excited the dog.
I don’t do gardening - it’s a very low maintenance garden.
I planned it that way. It’s mostly evergreen trees and shrubs.

Did you have pancakes yesterday? I forgot.
MrC is making them today instead.

henetha Wed 22-Feb-23 10:21:08

Just a very few these days. Most have died or gone into a retirement home. My little gang here broke up in Covid restriction time. And I've always been a bit solitary anyway so don't crave making new ones really.

It's a lovely day here. Do you suddenly decide go out into the sunshine? Are you spring gardening yet?

MrsKen33 Wed 22-Feb-23 05:29:37

Yes I do, mostly every day. I use a lap top as DH has a desktop. When I can I shall be getting my own desktop.

Do you have lots of friends or just a few?

biglouis Wed 22-Feb-23 02:30:48

I seldom go out in the evenings as I dont drive so its a door to door taxi.

Do you use a computer, tablet or phone for browsaing the internet?

I prefer a desktop because of the size of the screen.

AGAA4 Tue 21-Feb-23 15:25:07

Apart from all my family - chocolate.

Do you go out in the evenings?

henetha Tue 21-Feb-23 11:12:58

Not sure I hate anything. But i very much dislike the way men's shirts are sold, wrapped in all that stuff. Sell them just on hangers please!

What do you absolutely love? I love ice-cream.

TillyTrotter Mon 20-Feb-23 20:38:02

What do you absolutely hate?

TillyTrotter Mon 20-Feb-23 20:37:41

Sorry, ignore me - I have picked this question up from the wrong page. Doh!

TillyTrotter Mon 20-Feb-23 20:36:48

I am a mender and it’s probably because I watched my mum mend everything for her children. She was often darning heels of socks and fingers of gloves.
I repair rips, split seams - and stitch darts in garments to make them fit.

Are you an avid book reader?

MrsKen33 Mon 20-Feb-23 19:31:25

No because I would absolutely hate it.

What might you ‘absolutely hate’? Anything at all.

SachaMac Mon 20-Feb-23 17:23:09

I enjoy get togethers with a group of close friends or family but I’m not one for big parties and I wouldn’t particularly like a surprise party. I was never a great fan of the works Christmas do’s.

Has anyone ever organised a big surprise party for you?

AGAA4 Mon 20-Feb-23 17:09:31

biglouis I can pick bits of decades that I would like to revisit.

lbc1955 My default setting is enjoying myself as much as possible.

Do you enjoy parties?

lovebeigecardigans1955 Mon 20-Feb-23 12:43:08

I'm certainly lazy today - in fact it's my default setting. However, I roused myself to change the bedclothes and there is a pile of ironing which needs to be seen to.

What's your default setting, personality wise?

biglouis Sun 19-Feb-23 15:47:32

It depends whether you mean lunch or dinner. For lunch I usually just have fruit and yogert or a sandwich. For evening my nephew brings me a series of meals to pop in the microwave so I just have whatever I happen to get out that day.

If you could go back to any decade or part of your life when would it be?

For me it would be the mid 1960s. I was a single young woman in my first home, with plenty of money to spend and a well paid job. No one to answer to.

MrsKen33 Sun 19-Feb-23 14:40:46

Absolutely fine. DH and SiL doing the electrics for an air source pump and DD, is now asleep on our sofa We all had a lovely lunch together.

Do you have a big tea on Sundays or just bits and bobs.?
