Some dream about a simpler life
Away from politics and strife
Maybe Hebrides?
No celebrities 👍
And silence it cuts like a knife

Pantomime at the village hall
Christmas fun for one and all
Look! He's behind you!
Kids scream out loud Boo
"Oh no he isn't!" they would call

Can't wait for that moist roast turkey
With grandkids happy and perky
Bank account empty
Presents a-plenty
I've got some that are quite quirky

The pumpkins look fun and so bright
Sometimes, they will give me a fright
But that's what they're for,
They sit by the door
Sometimes till Xmas night

Poetic licence I have used
The sunset colours have all fused
Orange,red and pink
It all makes me think
Of a new line to stay amused

The trees are all beautiful hues
End of Summer gives me the blues
On days when it snows
Not too bad, I suppose
My garden look as good as you’s

I think I will go on a cruise
To be honest, I’ve nothing to lose
I’ll sit on the deck
The scenery check
And maybe go down for a snooze
