Title: Did My Cousin Inherit More Norwegian DNA Than Expected?
Post:
My 1st cousin has a congenital hand disease that also affected his father and his father's paternal uncle. All three are from the same surname line (not mine).
The disease is said to be most common in Northern Europeans. By paper records, my cousin is 25% Norwegian, his father was 50%, and his father's uncle was 100%. None of them have had DNA testing.
Since the disease follows the Norwegian lineage, could my cousin have inherited more than 25% Norwegian DNA? How likely is this?
