Ads in games

I play various games online and of course these are interspersed with adverts. Just recently I have been getting a lot of them in a foreign language which looks like Russian. Are any other Grans having this problem? Ads are bad enough when they are in English, but when they are in an unintelligible language it's infuriating .

No. I'm not getting this.

No i m not getting any foreign ones but I do get dozens of the blooming things I don’t mind one or even two between rounds but when you have to sit through four or five each time they are irritating to put it mildly

I've had the occasional one in other languages. The most irritating are the Temu ones. So badly acted they are laughable.

I haven’t had any in a foreign language so far. The ones that drive me nuts are those with so called ‘neurologists’ recommending seniors play a particular game to avoid cognitive decline - what load of rubbish. I do think it should be illegal for anyone to pose as a medic giving advice, actually it probably is!

Yes, I’ve had that happen too! It’s usually due to your device or browser thinking you’re in another country. Try this:

Check your language and location settings
Clear browser history and cookies
If it’s in an app, check the app’s language settings
Run a quick malware scan just in case
Also, an ad blocker can help cut down the ads altogether.

Temu ads are the worst, but I'd still rather have them than pay lol!

This usually happens because online ads are served based on IP location, app settings, or ad network data, which can sometimes be incorrect or outdated. Using a VPN, privacy-focused browser, or resetting ad preferences can trigger foreign-language ads as well. You may be able to reduce this by checking your device’s language/region settings or limiting ad personalization where possible.
