June '25 Limerick (July '21 & July'23 continued)

Perhaps I should just sell my car
Buy a cycle, with a side-car

Perhaps I should just sell my car
Buy a cycle, with a side-car
Car and Car do not rhyme

Perhaps I should just sell my car
Buy a cycle, with a side-car
Car and Car do not rhyme
But that's not a crime

Perhaps I should just sell my car
Buy a cycle, with a side-car
Car and Car do not rhyme
But that’s not a crime
Today’s world has news worse by far

Well here we are with a New Year

Well here we are with a New Year
For lost loved ones I shed a tear

Well here we are with a New Year
For lost loved ones I shed a tear
And raised up my glass

Well here we are with a New Year
For lost loved ones I shed a tear
And raised up my glass
To memories past

Well here we are with a New Year
For lost loved ones I shed a tear
And raised up my glass
To memories past
And to all those we held so dear

The sun’s shining , but the air is cold

The sun’s shining , but the air is cold
I'm going out as I'm feeling bold

The sun’s shining, but the air is cold
I’m going out as I’m feeling bold
Wearing gloves and hat

The sun’s shining, but the air is cold
I’m going out as I’m feeling bold
Wearing gloves and hat
Saying ciao to the cat

The sun's shining, but the air is cold
I'm going out as I'm feeling bold
Wearing gloves and a hat
Saying ciao to the cat
Brisk walking's good, so I am told

The cat said ciao or was it meow?

The cat said ciao or was it meow?
When confronted by an angry cow

The cat said ciao or was it meow?
When confronted by an angry cow
The cow looked amazed

The cat said ciao or was it meow?
When confronted by an angry cow
The cow looked amazed
But I wasn’t fazed

The cat said ciao or was it meow?
When confronted by an angry cow
The cow looked amazed
But I wasn’t fazed
I knew I was dreaming, somehow.

Then I awoke and realised

Then I awoke and realised
The cat and the cow were disguised

Then I awoke and realised
The cat and the cow were disguised
For pantomime shows

Then I awoke and realised
The cat and the cow were disguised
For pantomime shows
And to scare the crows

Then I awoke and realised
The cat and the cow were disguised
For pantomime shows
An to scare the crows
My dream fear had been exorcised

I must not eat cheese late at night

I must not eat cheese late at night
Although it’s a perfect delight

I must not eat cheese late at night
Although it's a perfect delight
Don't want a nightmare

I must not eat cheese late at night
Although it's a perfect delight
Don't want a nightmare,
I might shout and swear,

I must not eat cheese late at night
Although it's a perfect delight
Don't want a nightmare,
I might shout and swear,
And then disappear out of sight!

Of winter I'm already weary

Of winter I'm already weary
Weather outside is so dreary
