GandTea Sun 17-Jul-16 20:24:16

Hello Dicky, you need to be careful how you talk about our Grannies, they can bite back.

Dicky Sun 17-Jul-16 20:08:44

Hi there Bob. I've just joined. Is it safe in here. There seem to be some aggressive old biddies out there

Mumsy Fri 15-Jul-16 09:37:38

just wondering when grandads going to get rid of the mice in this shed! must be caused by all the cake crumbs. grin

Gononsuch Sat 09-Jul-16 11:09:26

Thanks, Elegran

PRINTMISS Sat 09-Jul-16 10:43:02

OH! the mind boggles, what on earth was that all about! What is wrong with some folk?

Elegran Sat 09-Jul-16 09:08:00

That was bleedingheart's only public post on the forum, but he sent unwelcome private emails to quite a few posters.

Gononsuch Sat 09-Jul-16 08:32:59

Please, Tell me about bleedingheart

I thought his post was up to the usual standard for GN, a poster after some ideas for his first meeting with a GC and the I find out that he has been rumbled and removed from GN.

How did you find out ?hmm

Mumsy Sat 09-Jul-16 08:06:30

Cherrytree59 Fri 08-Jul-16 22:44:16

Just popped in to shed to say ' hi and welcome' to mumsy
I love GN. I have had support and advice from the lovely GNetters.
I think its my first birthday any day now smile

G&T great the Shed is open with a comfy chair, a brew&cupcake

GandTea Fri 08-Jul-16 18:27:30

I would have agreed, but now she has abused the ref. it's double red.

Mumsy Fri 08-Jul-16 18:25:17

no idea what a red card is for so chucked it on the compost heap. grin

Nannylovesshopping Fri 08-Jul-16 11:37:04

But she did own up GandTea can't she just have a yellow card

GandTea Fri 08-Jul-16 10:44:12

That's it, Mumsy gets a red card for cheating, tempting us with cakes we can't eat.

Nannylovesshopping Fri 08-Jul-16 10:26:20

What a clever gd you have mumsy, I so want a coffee and cake now!

Mumsy Fri 08-Jul-16 09:42:53

Nannylovesshopping Fri 08-Jul-16 09:20:03

Mumsy, I've come into the shed just to see the cakes, did you make them, they are amazing

GandTea Fri 08-Jul-16 08:55:02

Welcome to the shed Mumsy. WOW those cakes are too good to eat, but \i wll force myself.
The shed is a good place to talk about DIY, gardening, football, wives (that is a joke) etc etc.

Mumsy Fri 08-Jul-16 08:44:49

MiniMouse Tue 05-Jul-16 10:39:50

Cherrytree59 Mon 04-Jul-16 17:56:53

Are you excited BH?
GC are wonderful
I truly believe children know and accept their own Kin without preconceived ideas.
So put on your best smile
Listen to what they have got to say (if old enough to talk)
Ask about friends, Tv programmes
Music if teenager.
If a toddler a little magic trick goes down well
Can you ask in advance if little present is appropriate?
Try to be yourself.

Good luck. Let us now how you get on

Elegran Mon 04-Jul-16 17:41:13

You don't say how old he is - a week? a year? 5? 10? 15? Different ages, different things will bore him. You don't tell us either why this is the first time you have seen him. That could make a difference to how you and he get on together.

Why you have chosen the username "bleedingheart"? Do tell us.

bleedingheart Mon 04-Jul-16 17:00:49

I am a grand dad....am about to meet my grandkid this weekend for the first time, i want to know what i should do and don't do so that he will not be boring with me...

Cherrytree59 Wed 29-Jun-16 23:04:49

Just had look on googleGT
But seems to be for Algae and moss
My problem is pure grime and dirt due to soil and mud.

GandTea Wed 29-Jun-16 22:06:48

I have used Algon patio cleaner a couple of times, works well, but does take a week or two.

Cherrytree59 Wed 29-Jun-16 21:23:23

Hi just popped in for bit of quiet time.

Had hoped that after today it would
be a good while before we have any more (lovely) workmen drinking tea and eating bickies in our kitchen or garden (remember that bit of warn dry spell?) for the last 5 months we seem to have been living in a cafe even with at one point no actual kitchen

No such luck the roof is leaking and one radiator is not working!
Hey ho.
To cut to the chase. I'm sitting looking out on to our patio and it's a grim sightsad.
We have plenty of pots of flowers but the slabs are ingrained with all the mud and dirt from the work we have had done.
My little karcher is a hundred or so miles away at DS.

So what about if used a hard broom and some cheap bleach??

Any suggestions very welcome
