I was awoken last with with the most awful cramp in my shin (Yes - I didn't know you could get cramp in your shin either) I nearly cried it was so painful. Having looked on the internet at various sites, it appears it may be the result of many causes - lack of drinking enough water, lack of salt, nerve damage to back, lack of calcium, too much exercise and one person even suggested DVT! Has anyone had any experience of this? And if so, any idea what caused it?

. I don't think it does much good anyway. I also used to get the same cramp during the night but wearing bedsocks seems to have helped.
