Yes I think so, because they're talking about a serum that tightens up the old nether regions and gives her and her husband a thrilling love life. grin

Yikes, another of those. I wish I had realized blush

I wonder if the poster that brought the thread up again is advertising, and should be reported.

Try just using WET loo paper - and not drying. Just water - I find there is usually a tap within reach....except in supermarkets. Works for me!

???
How do you get the paper into your vagina ?

There was a whole thread on this subject a while ago, at www.gransnet.com/forums/health/a1195635-Vaginal-atrophy

Hoped to find some recommendations on products here, having read comments on Amazon about Replens that would prevent me from buying it. I don't know the names of any others, so would welcome advice please. Yes, I am too embarrassed to go to the doctors - yet.

Petra, so sorry there has been confusion about this. The people from Balance Activ have been in touch and told us there had been a misunderstanding about what the case study was (not a clinical trial but for media) and I was about to email you. (I still will!)

Balance Activ are very keen for us to reiterate that: "we are not using anyone’s details in the media unless they consent to it, that we never sell anyone’s details to the media (we pay our case studies as a thank you for helping to raise awareness of health issues) and that the whole reason behind asking for women to become media case studies is to help others who are too embarrassed to say anything about or seek help for their condition."

The free samples were not dependent on agreeing to become a case study, so we hope you have got yours.

Balance Activ are obviously looking for women who are prepared to speak out about vaginal dryness in order to reduce some of the stigma and distress about the condition. We agreed to pass on this request to gransnetters - although we also warned them that we thought it might be hard to recruit anyone.

I hope that clarifies things a bit - and I will email!

It is also the case that GN own the joint copyright on things posted on threads (look at the Ts and Cs) - and Geraldine has (sensitively) used some things posted on GN forum in articles she has written about GN and GN relevant issues. But unlike the DM I think Geraldine is on our side grin

That is a great shame Petra. Can you buy it or manage private care?

petra Sun 19-May-13 15:26:33

Biker, all the lotions and potions disagree with me. The only thing that worked was the Tetosterone implant; which the Hospital have stopped.
I was hoping against hope that this product would work.
I might just buy it anyway and add it to all the rest.

A sad fact of ageing for ladies as is 'Mr Droopy' disease for men.
Happily a sensitive GP or Practice Nurse can provide solutions.

Regarding the survey thing - I refuse to complete surveys even to 'Amazon' these days.
I used to, thinking naively that services may improve in some way. All that happened of course was a massive increase in spam Email as the surveyors promptly sell on your details to anyone who wants them.
As I have 'matured' I have become more and more aware and protective of my privacy.

Hi Grannyknot. Fortunately you are informed of this before you fill in detail.
I have emailed them with my feelings. I asked for an answer as to why they had to sell my misery to tabloids.

Grannyknot Fri 17-May-13 22:13:36

Yikes petra. Did you only find out about it after you gave all the 'case study' details, or was it perhaps in the small print? No matter that we discuss it here on the forums, it is a very personal, delicate and distressing matter and I can't think of anything worse than it ending up in a tabloid article.

petra Fri 17-May-13 20:42:08

The more I think about this the more annoyed/ angry I'm getting.
If these people, and I'm assuming it's women, had ever suffered as some of us had, and give us a glimmer of hope and then have the bloody Gawl to think that we want this plastered in print.
Why are they doing it: money. They are selling our misery. I hope, when some of them get to 'a certain age' they will have an insite to it and think back to this.
In fact, I think I'm going to contact them again ( I was very polite last time) and tell them in no uncertain terms what I think of them.

kittylester Fri 17-May-13 19:55:01

I'd draw the line at that, but have always said that I could have an internal at 'The Clock Tower' (well known Leicester landmark) having been pregnant 6 times in an era when that seemed to be the standard examination method! blush

harrigran Fri 17-May-13 18:38:03

OMG just what you need, your name and complaint in a national daily blush

petra Fri 17-May-13 17:40:31

Did any of you respond to the request to be a 'case study' for the product ' Balance Active'
If you have, were you surprised to see that your details could be in a magazine or the Daily Mail. I for one, have replied that I will not be taking part for this reason.
