Watching tennisyesterday - sharp pain in left hand- A large bee on my little finger- shook off and dashed into kitchen. Remembered that treatment
is B-Bicarb for bee stings -VW -vinegar for wasp stings so was able to treat quickly .Swelling /pain almost gone - no harm done!!

That's good, maniac.

I had a wasp sting last year that piriton dealt with on the day (I was at an archery shoot and didn't have access to bicarb or vinegar) but which a couple of days later caused a lot of pain and became very swollen with infection. I guess it was a dirty wasp.

I remember my mother using dolly blue to treat wasp or bee stings - can't remember which. I shouldn't think you can buy that stuff now.

I think it was Dolly Blue for bee stings, vegasmags! My mother used to rub soap or butter on burns though....so perhaps I'm not the best person to give advice on 'olden-day' remedies! hmm
