I am sat here, looking into an empty glass, trying to see the little bits left by my aspirin tablet to know that I have taken it. confused I do have a tablet day holder thingy and am going to have to use it again so that I am sure I have taken all I am supposed to do.

What sort of things do you forget?

Quiet often my morning drugs ! oddly I never forget the ones before bed though confused
Can't think of anything else I regularly forget. I often forget random things.

I sometimes forget morning tablets too - that's when I take statins.
Last time I went for a new prescription I told the doctor I didn't need one for statins because I had plenty left. Why? Because I sometimes forget...
He was quite cross with me (very unusual , he's a mild-mannered man) and said you MUST take them regularly! So I usually remember now.
Rubylady - put them next to where you eat your breakfast.

To turn the washing M/c on. Daft, I know. And I don't know why it's happening in my 'new' property. I've never done it before.

I fill the kettle and forget to switch it on. All the time! Drives me mad!

TriciaF- I was always told the statins work much better if taken at bedtime- I think this is explained on the instructions inside.

That's because you drop off to sleep after you've taken them, granjura.
I dropped my aspirin on the floor earlier, and took half an hour to find it!

I have - twice - not remembered if I have taken my two tablets at night time. I usually take them as soon as I have cleaned my teeth. If I had taken myself off to bed for a nap, taken them then got up to go to loo, clean my teeth again and take the tablets out of habit it is quite worrying. I have phoned Out of Hours Service twice in the past 5 years to see if it is dangerous. The second time the lady on the end of the phone asked if I often 'overdosed' and was this a problem for me. Obviously she had my records in front of her.

Three years ago I accidently put Otex eardrops in my eye instead of the prescribed drops. Agonising. I washed it out and went to A&E. Luckily it was fine.

Flower I have sprayed peach air freshener under my arms. And it was years ago! confused

My sister's friend once went for an intimate examination at the doctors and sprayed herself with hair glitter instead of her intimate spray. The doctor said to her 'Thanks for making an effort' smile another friend had a 2nd class stamp stuck to her 'bits' after using a wet wipe in the doctors loos to freshen herself. The nurse gently removed it with a pair of tweezers.

Oh Lord, so much, usually early doors. I have more than once sprayed hairspray under my arms, deodorant on my hair. I have used peroxide based contact lens cleaning solution instead of saline when putting them in - I had to have a day off work for that one. I have showered, put on a dressing gown, gone down for breakfast, wandered back up and got back in the shower. And I regularly forget whether I've cleaned my face or not so have to do it again.

But my friend had the best tale (not strictly about forgetting, but it's related to medical matters). She was dressed in a fetching tie-up-the-back hospital gown when in labour and suddenly realised she'd lost her lovely diamond engagement ring. Panicking, she hauled herself off the bed and bent over to look on the floor. At which a doctor reached down and removed the ring from between her buttocks.

Sorry, just to correct my grammar - Have I taken my aspirin?

Wouldn't want to upset the grammar police. Soutra grin

Iam64 Thu 28-Aug-14 13:28:49

thanks for correcting your grammar ruby lady. Where does Soutra come in to that?

Pittcity Thu 28-Aug-14 16:10:09

Glad I saw this thread, reminded me to take my tablet!!

Ana Thu 28-Aug-14 22:35:41

I don't think missing an aspirin would do you much harm once in a while anyway - if the medication was vital you'd remember!

Iam64 Soutra left me a private message pointing out that I had said I am a writer and my spelling mistake. As I said, it is not War and Peace I am writing on this site and we all make mistakes from time to time and the OP was in the middle of the night. Maybe a little slack should be given to each other at times and try and not be so picky. smile

Iam64 Fri 29-Aug-14 08:50:32

Good suggestion rubylady, about not being so picky. I don't suppose Soutra expected a pm to be responded to on an open thread…….

Iam64 Fri 29-Aug-14 08:59:14

ok ruby, just read your post on another thread, where you mention unwanted pm's. Accept your point smile

Ouch and double ouch, rubylady, I hadn't thought of that! grin
