I was wondering if anyone had a dental inplant and what the procedure was like.
I have had a chewing tooth taken out which now leaves me with no teeth at one side so problem with chewing. My dentist does not do the procedure but said I would probably need two inplants.

From what I've checked out on the Internet it looks a horrendous procedure.

I have one, the crown did not last as the root was cracked.

Got a plate with one tooth, hated it

From start to finish the procedure took 9 months, the root to be extracted, then healing, 6 moths later titanium implant inserted, then 3months later the 'tooth'fitted.

No problems, but I trust my private dentist, aint cheap tho.

Apparently according to my dentist if you need 2 teeth, one can be piggy backed on to the titanium, dont go for a cheap option, waste of money

My DS spent half of a moderate inheritance on implants because her teeth were loose. She has never looked back, helped by the fact that her dentist was gorgeous.

Was the procedure very painful?

Which type of inplant should I be looking for, I have no idea where to start.

Do you have a website link I could check out.

Jeannie.

I have a huge threshold to pain, in my mouth, not in the slightest painful.

With any drilling I dont have numbing, only with the few extractions I have had.

No web links as I trust my dentist.

If you live in my area I will post, get a good dentist .

I could ask her, it was uncomfortable I think and did take a long time, I know that she had to have inplants into her gums then wait for them to heal first.

I had two implants. 10 years ago front central teeth.I had crowns from when I was a child which caused various problems until finally both removed. It was expensive. And quite painful, TBH, but well, worth it. my Sil had several done, both molars and front teeth. My advice is to get advice from specialist implant dentistASAP before the bone diminishes.
