Hernia

Has anyone here had a hernia repair recently? I mean the type that comes up in the groin.
I had one repaired 40 years ago and it's popped out again, for the last few years, and is becoming more uncomfortable.
I've asked the doctor about it and he said to leave it for the moment. I got the impression he thought there might be complications.
Wondering if anyone has had the repair when older, and if so, how it went.

Not personally but as a nurse I cared for many many patients some at a grand age all of whom recovered well. The procedure can be very simple now depending on the grade and site of the herniation. If your worried why not go back and as ask for a referral to a surgeon for assessment.

I'll be seeing my doctor next week for another prescription and will ask him then.
I've got quite a list!
I usually put these things off as long as possible.
