"When I made a complaint, both colluded and denied it ever happened. What could I do?"

Use one of these.

The question is how do you ensure your safety once you have complained?

I was told more years ago than I can remember to never to expect to succeed with a complaint about the medical profession. They close ranks faster than a mouse trap.I am lucky that I have never needed to test that but feel for the people who are affected.

They definitely are not god enough - I speak from personal experience.

On one occasion an NHS hospital dentist reduced my DD to tears with his irritable manner - and his rudeness was witnessed by another dentist in the same room. When I made a complaint, both colluded and denied it ever happened. What could I do?

When I complained about my broken foot treatment - which has left me with a permanent avoidable disability - again the medics ganged up to deny everything, in spite of the fact that a specialist at an orthopaedic hospital had eventually made the right diagnosis. What could I do?

The system is a nonsense. The only virtue that I could see is that the complaints would be on record and if others occurred regarding the same doctors might serve to ring alarm bells.

Not good enough by a long way.

More than 40% of NHS investigations into patient complaints are not good enough, according to a review by the office of the health service ombudsman.

Yes, and the Health Ombudsman rejects 98% of complaints without any investigation at all, and only upholds half of the remainder. The IPCC upholds 14 times as many complaints against the police.
