Thanks for helpful hints and kind thoughts, much appreciated. Have had restless night trying to get comfortable and ended up lying diagonally across the bed with foot dangling over the side. Just as well Mr K is away this week!! I have panto rehearsal to run this evening as well, could do without it. Off to hobble through to kitchen to make restorative cuppa.

That is painful - I do hope it resolves quickly.

Nice to hear from you pompa.

I had, some time ago, swellings on my Achilles tendon and the consultant sent me to the physios for ultrasound treatement which, much to my surprise, worked very quickly and the swellings didn't recur.

Ouch indeed, Katek I've had that in the past, it's really painful and took a little while to mend sad. I had to do some gentle stretches and avoid shoes that were too flat. I found shoes with no back were best for me, not so easy to do in winter, hope yours eases soon flowers

I have suffered from a bursa on my Achilles tendon. I was due to have it operated on, but I was offered my knee replacement at the same time, so cancelled the op. When I had partly recovered from the knee op, the bursa was gone !. The only thing I could put it down to was the ted stockings I waore for 6 weeks. The bursa re-occurred a few weeks back, tried the stockings again and it went.

Well, have a diagnosis-Achilles tendonitis. Normally caused by overuse.......trying to work out how that applies in my case!!

motorised wheelchair and walking pole to wave angrily at people who treat you as invisible, and ask how many sugars you have grin sorry for your pain flowers

Hmm. They have step up but perhaps I could devise a drop down ramp from under the basket........tea tray and bit of string deployed at right moment should do it!

No, walking pole no good at all. What you actually need is a motorised wheelchair you can use to terrify all other road users! Never do anything by halves grin

Have done something nasty to tendon at back of right ankle-hobbling around here muttering choice words under my breath. Fortunately have physio appt this evening so will get her to take a look at it. In the absence of a stick would a walking pole be OTT?!?
