No i will be happy living to when I can. I always have side effects from drugs. I must just try a bit harder to keep healthy.

Yes please would love to go on and see grand children grow up. I am 74 in reasonable health and hate to think I might have only 10-15yeras left. I have been with my current 'squeeze' for 15yrs and it has flown by and I have a horrible feeling the next lot will do the same.

It is easy to say you don't want to live that long. Not very many people would give you the date they wish to die.

Sil's Granny died recently at 101 and 7 months. She was sharp as a tack till the end and full of fun. O.K. if I could be like that, otherwise no thanks.

If I survived to 125, my DSs would be approaching the century mark and GD1 would be 73!

Presumably they would also be living another 50 years? It could get rather crowded - and just imagine the Christmas present bill!

My mother just beat your SiL's gran by 1 month Gaggi and she was totally with it until the last week but not happy really and I wouldn't like to live that long. Although if all my contemporaries did that would be another matter.

Imagine what life outside your front door might be like over another 50 years...no thanks!

No I would not. I'm 68 and I've had a wonderful life. Now it is my children's turn. We have enough problems coping with an ageing population as it is. This idea can only make a very difficult situation worse.

As I said earlier NO. I hadn't thought about the "can't afford it bit." I would not want the money to live on to run out before I do.
I think this idea is truly dreadful , it would cause total social chaos. We do not have enough younger people to fund our old age as it.

I would not think it would stop people dying of disease but just keep the already healthy from aging so fast.

Imagine sitting in a care home totally gaga for another 50 years? No thanks. The staff looking after whoever would be using Zimmer frames themselves.

Not a chance, and anyway my money will run out. I'm planning to go at eighty, that's quite old enough for me!

We celebrated my Aunt's centenary this summer. She still lives alone with a little outside help, plays bridge 2x a week, does the daily crossword and is pretty healthy for her age but feels she has lived too long and would be quite happy not to wake up in the morning. I said it would be a good idea if she left a note on the doorstep if she intended to do that so not to give the carer a shock . I don't want to live to that age - it's hard work being old and I don't much like what is happening in the world either ......

Blimey! They're moaning about the number of older people now - imagine the stretch on health and social care if we all lasted longer

I would like to live for - in a decent condition - for another thirty years. (Hope saying that doesn't tempt fate. Will watch out for buses when I go out) Just to see my grandsons well settled in life.

Definitely not,,,I'm 70 now and think I don't want to live that long only to be dependant on other people to look after me.I am quite happy to live until I can't be independent any more
