Thanks Luckygirl. Yes, the consultant's secretary thought it was strange, too.

I will definitely be seeing my GP and hope that I can get somebody to look again at the CT scan and report back on the tumours.

That is a bit weird if the purpose of the scan was to monitor the tumours.

I had a huge battle (outlined on another thread) to get a consultant letter with a result and treatment plan a few weeks ago - it took them months to get back to GP and me, but meantime more appointments for scans kept appearing and I had no idea why they had been requested!

So - I think you will probably need to keep chasing them up I am afraid. Good luck!

I recently had a CT scan, with contrast, to investigate further two benign tumours on my kidneys, which were found on an ultrasound scan.. At the following consultation, I discovered that there was no mention of the tumours on the report and only my kidney stones had been reported upon.

The advice from the consultant's secretary was to wait for the copy letter from the urologist to my GP and then see my GP to discuss it and this is what I'm going to do. From the ultrasound report, these tumours are small at the moment, but I understand they can grow and, at a certain size, they can haemorrhage. So, I feel there needs to be a management plan of how they are going to be monitored.

Has anybody else had this sort of experience? Any advice? The consultant reassured me, as the tumours were small, but I was still not happy that they hadn't been investigated as they should have been.
