I took a co-codamol and a paracetamol at about 2:30am last night. My back was really playing up. I then had the most awfully bizarre dreams. I do my best to avoid taking two at once. I feel drowsy all day then.

Thanks. I'm trying not to take too many pain killers as, being arthritis (I suppose) it will only get worse so suppose will need more pain relief as time goes by.
I just didn't expect to have this much pain so soon.
Ironically one SIL is a consultant anaesthetist so is pain expert but he is my dear SIL and not my medic.
At keep fit this morning our lovely teacher had me do a few moves to see if that provoked the pain but nothing extra happened so we could isolate where it is. It's just painful all the time (less on sitting down)

There is a condition called Regional Pain Syndrome which as I understand it is chronic pain without an identifiable cause. The best place to get this diagnosed and treated is a Pain Clinic so your GP would have to refer you. I hope you can control it8 to some extent with regular pain killers until you are seen.

For many years, for time to time, I've had sudden lower back pain which, after a few days of taking it easy, goes. It was Xrayed and nothing shown.
However two years ago I had a hip replacement and, since then, the pain has never gone away. I mentioned it to the surgeon who said it would go and my hips were now exactly level (which he demonstrated on an X-ray). I mentioned it later to my GP on my annual visit who sent me to the physio and I incorporate those exercises into daily life and my two keep fit classes.
It is still there and getting worse. Now. . . . Who do I see? GP useless to be honest. Local sports masseur comes highly recommended and is also an osteopath. A chiropractor I know?
