Play Doh

And there's me just wondering if it will Hoover up from the carpet ok. (Must admit, our DGC don't get fed the stuff!)

What is wrong with children? They'll eat and drink the most foul things yet turn their noses up at proper food. DD2 once drank aftershave (still feel guilty). Who in their right mind would smell aftershave and still drink it????? I know other children who drank washing up liquid, ate soap powder and even chomped through a whole bar of soap!

The soap eater had unusual poos too but I doubt it was so colourful

Just don't let the dog eat play-doh. I know of a very sad story, but it was a home made batch he ate.

My grandson's nursery put glitter in the playdoh, and he ate it. Daughter in law was quite alarmed by his nappies that night, and had to ask them to be more careful in future!

I remember the kids eating all sorts of things like a very large fat earthworm!! But they survived

Just curious... at what age can they use playdoh with supervision? I got some, but no cookie-cutter shapes, yet, etc. I have one of those magnetic swipe boards where she uses a stylus and star shapes to 'stamp' them onto the pad, and she knows how to pull the knob to erase.

At 17 mos she is now also fitting plastic blocks together (like big legos), knows colours... responds to sentences, but replies with only one or two words.

All sounds typical, but will she enjoy playdoh? I keep forgetting to ask the nursery if they are using there. Might try to remember to do that. I think she has it at home, but does not bother with it as she prefers playing with dad or mum.

One of my great nieces made a lovely Christmas tree out of glitter play-doh and their German Shepherd ate it with, apparently, no ill effects.

My DSiL made some Play-Doh for her children (flour, salt, oil, water and food colour) but by the time they came home from preschool to play with it, it had gone - eaten by the dogs she presumed.

When I was getting my youngest daughter dressed one day she said her new shoes hurt. I stood her down and she yelled. Taking the shoe off I discovered she had packed the toe with playdoh which overnight had set like concrete - it took ages with knives, spoons and a screwdriver to remove it!

Beetroot is excellent before poo samples if you want colour!!!

Best laugh I've had all day, don't remember my DD or DGS ever eating Play Doh - am I missing out?

Slightly off-subject - DGD. Has a passion for blueberries and will scoff a whole punnet if she's allowed to. It turns her poo a frightening bluefish black colour, but obviously with no bad effects. That would probably alarm an unwary lab technician with the pleasant duty of testing all the doodoos!

Hah! Blueish not bluefish. Flippin predictive text!

Blue raspberry, or bubblegum ice cream will turn your poo green. We discovered this during a summer holiday.

A lady I knew had a lovely sailor suit for her baby son. (This was in the seventies) He swallowed one of the fancy buttons. She found it next day in his nappy. Not wanting to ruin the look of the suit she washed it and sewed it back on!

DD1 loved beetroot and would eat it for lunch most days. I wish her poo had smelt as nice as it's colour.
