Has anyone has dreadful pain when they go to the toilet? I have two tears and dread every time I have to go. Any one had this? Any advice about easing the pain welcome.

I first read this as Anal Tears, the crying sort of tears.
I thought, gosh I didn't know our bottoms could cry!
Sorry, but it made me laugh. (yes, I am a bit dim at times).
Seriously, I think you need to see a doctor about this.

Yes it looked like that to me, thanks for making me laugh. I have had all the pain in the arse pain in the bum jokes. I have been to the Doctors and they are aware. They can heal in 6 to 8 weeks. In the meantime just wondered if anyone else has any advice.

Yes, I have had an anal fissure and it was absolute agony. It used to wake me in the night and I would sit in a bowl of salt water, crying in pain, so you have my devout sympathy.

I was reluctant to go to the doctor, but had to in the end and she knew without asking what was wrong by the way I perched, gingerly, on the seat! She prescribed some special cream which really worked wonders, so I would definitely go and get it seen to as soon as possible.

Good luck and I really hope you will feel better soon. flowers

No, I haven't, sorry. Years ago I had something that the doctor called an anal fissure. Caused by constipation apparently. I was told to change my diet. It healed on it's own as far as I can remember.
So glad you didn't mind my joking.

Ouch!

Been there. The trick is to "keep the traffic friendly" - in other words do not ask your poor sore bum to cope with the Rock of Gibraltar!

Plenty laxatives - even if it makes your stool a bit loose for a few weeks. Suppositories are also a good bet - though hard to insert - but KY gel is the stuff to go for.

The greatest bliss is to stand in the shower and direct the flow at your nether region - wonderful! You can do that as many times a day as you want, and it also keeps the tear clean.

It will go away, but it does hurt a lot I know and I am sending you flowers

PS You may feel the need for painkillers but it is best to avoid those that might slow down your bowel.

Oh dear that is painful but I only know that from patients I have nursed. You do need this condition to be managed by your GP with cream/suppositories and adjustments to your diet. I hope you will get an appointment very soon and start feeling the benefit of treatment.

Thanks Bellananna If I am honest I too, am embarrassed to go back to the Doctors, but I will go. This was caused after a bout of diverticulitus. The Doctors referred to them as tears but It course they are fissures.

Like Henetha I at first thought 'crying tears'. Horrible and painful but can be treated, doctor's arepaid not to be embarrassed. Do go and ask for help, don't suffer at home in silence. ?

You need to go back to the doctor. My ex had a fissure and was in agony. Finally they operated and it never returned.

I too read it as 'tears'. You must be so miserable and you must go to the Doc. Don't be embarrassed, they see everything and anything and it's all part of the job(oops). I've no doubt you will get the right treatment and soon feel relief from this horrid problem. In the meantime, it's laxatives and plenty of veggies all the way and steer clear of anything which hardens the stools. Eggs come to mind..... flowers
