Thank you for your kind messages. Going back to doc this week I am waiting for ent appointment to check it out. Doc did say it should ease over the weeks but you know what it is like on eBay the anxiety kicks in and all sorts go through your head.

I have suffered from bouts of labyrinthitis on and off for several years. The longest it kept me bed bound was 3 days with another 3 days feeling spaced out.
I now take travel sicknes tablets at the first sign and that does help!

5 weeks! - heavens above you poor thing. I get intermittent bouts of dizziness which I have been told are vestibular migraines - it only happens occasionally and that is quite bad enough for me. Maybe time to return to the doc Nells?

I have been having it over 5 years, now use sticks to walk to keep my balance.

Now I am having acupuncture for that and osteoporosis.

Guess what I feel it is helping.

Onwards and upwards, and not flat on my face with the woblies.

Out cash strapped city council still manages to provide free Over 50s Tai Chi. There are several well attended classes around the city and we much appreciate them.

Ear problems and balance are connected, try standing on one leg with eyes closed. Or best, dont. There are vestibular exercises which may help, though didnt help me but i do take betahistine for menieres /labyrinthitis and have not had an attack for over two years.?

I'll have to ask around to see if there are any of these classes here. The physio centre might know something about it.

I do Zumba Gold which has improved my blalnce but I have to say have a bad bout of labyrinthitis some years ago I think I may always have some kind of a problem and a slight list to port!

In addition to Pilates and Tai Chi, Body Balance classes do just that: improve balance. They all have helped me.

I have always had a poor sense of balance and have gone base over apex at least once a year since I was a child.

I had worries about it getting worse as I got older and I have started doing a pilates class once a week. Pilates helps to improve core strength. I do a standard class with people of all ages, but a local leisure centre also does specialist classes for the over 60s

I don't know anything about the inner ear problems but for balance a lot of the doctors in my area are recommending Tai Chi for our elderly people. We started the classes last year and I have to admit my balance has improved. In our community centre we have managed to keep the cost to £3 per class.

Oh you poor thing - I do hope that your GP can help.

We've had discussions about preventing falls on here in the past.
Has anyone had any help from their GP when they think it could be an inner ear problem?
Yesterday I was out walking, caught one foot on a small bump in the path and it threw out my sense of balance. I tried to regain balance, fell forward, luckily just bruises on one leg. But it's worrying.
I do have ear problems.
