Sounding very like Norovirus so glad you are feeling better,I felt really poorly and scared when it hit me and it took a good 10days before I felt anything like normal keep up with the fluids the more the better,to get it flushed away.

Think it's rotavirus that has the projectile vomiting willow. Glad to hear you're feeling better though

Willow, it's not just vomiting although it's known as 'winter vomiting disease.
I've had it twice. It's easily picked up even from such things as stair rails or door handles.

Thanks all for your good wishes - I just thought noro was projectile vomiting which I didn't have but whatever it was I hope I haven't passed it on to my other half! I've just spoken to my SIL and her daughter had what sounds like Noro last week (they don't live near us so I've not got it from her) but she works in a supermarket so probably got it there but was only off 3 days before she went back - if she wasn't fully recovered it's no wonder these things go round so quickly hmm

I would take a guess that you have picked something up during the supermarket trip . The basket handles are never wiped down , door handles , food packaging are all good sources for bugs to linger . I ALWAYS wash my hands as soon as I come in from shopping / going out and I must say since I started his habit 3 years ago I have not had a single cold or virus . Glad you are feeing better now xx

If its food related it usually happens pretty quickly often within 6 hours so I agree sounds more like a virus.

Sorry to hear you've been so poorly, willow, but glad you're starting to feel better. DH had the same symptoms in January. It is horrible. I rang the surgery who told me it was more than likely norovirus. We don't know where he picked it up either.

Norovirus sounds very likely.
Hope you are feeling better now (but half a stone? Every cloud ....and all that!)

I agree corner it sounds awfully like Norovirus which lasts around 48 hours with symptoms but it takes a few days to feel normal again. One normally vomits with Norovirus, from memory.

I had similar symptoms with Norovirus? In any case pleased you are feeling better.

I started to feel bloated and unwell on Monday, Tues developed the most chronic diarrhoea which lasted 48 hours and was sick a couple of times. I have felt dreadful all week which I partly put down to dehydration (I've lost over half a stone) but I'm baffled what caused it. We both ate the same food over the weekend, we didn't actually go anywhere either apart from supermarket shopping on Fri and as I work from home I don't mix with people much although I did have the auditors here all week. On Wed I seemed to have a temperature as well. Thankfully this morning I feel much better - might be something to do with the mashed banana and coconut juice I was recommended. It's over 20 years since I was sick and apart from the odd 'loose' day never had the runs like that. Just wonder if anyone else has had something similar?
