Lymphodoema

Not diagnosed yet. Waiting for X-ray results to rule out bone cancer. It's likely that I have lymphodoema in my lower leg. I have had breast cancer 6 years ago,but the lymph nodes were clear.

My concerns are the effect on the rest of my life e.g. Elastic stockings???? Do you have to wear them all the time? My greatest pleasure is gardening. How could I kneel down ?

Can anyone give me some idea of the implications please so I can start to imagine how I can absorb it into my life with the least impact. I want to ignore it as much as possible- do whatever is required, without it being a major issue.

Sorry, heave no knowledge of the condition but I am sure someone else will. Just a thought, if you cannot kneel down in the future what about having some raised beds created? They can look lovely and no kneeling!

I have lymphodema in my right arm after having all the lymph nodes removed during surgery for breast cancer.
I used to wear a very tight and uncomfortable sleeve but gave it up as it was really restricting.
Unless I do something very repetitive and vigorous it doesn't bother me. At times it is larger than the other arm but I don't think anyone notices. Good luck with the diagnosis and the leg.

pension very best of luck. I'm also a breast cancer recoverer, and was sent off for a bone cancer check after having a lot of pain in my leg, but no cancer was found. So fingers crossed. Don't do what I did though. I was due to go on holiday a day after my results, but I was so frightened that it would be cancer I put off hearing the news until after my holiday - result -a miserable holiday. But brilliant news when I got back!
