Went out yesterday and sat on high chair in restaurant. It was pretty warm. Conditions were a bit cramped and my handbag was on the floor which I needed. I had to get it by sort of hanging over the side of this tall chair. Shortly after I started feeling dizzy and lightheaded. I have never fainted in my life but felt I could at any time. Luckily I was with DH who's arm I hung onto to get back home.

Once home still felt funny and lots of people curse the Internet but it gave me the answer. I had caused a problem to my inner ear and went on YouTube and discovered how to perform the Epley's Maneuver on myself to align this crystal thing in my ear back where it should be. Today I feel back to normal (touch wood) as it was very scary.

The internet can be a wonderful thing at times can't it. Glad you got your ear back functioning properly and managed to work your way through Epley. It really does work for some people and very useful to know in order to avoid a GP visit.

I had this a while ago, and went to the Dr, who performed it on me. Now I can deal with it when it occasionally comes back. Which is mostly when I get up too quickly out of bed

That's interesting. I once had a problem after a flight and wonder if it was the same thing. I found it difficult to walk up even one marble step and there was a gap, that I could see down, at the entrance to the lift and I had trouble stepping over it. My OH thought I was going round the bend!

I recently have had the bits in my ears rattling around too - and funnily enough the subject came up in the Doctors soap. However I didn't fancy the Epley's manoeuvre and it went away after a while. However it made a bit of a comeback this morning when I started to swim on my back so breast stroke took over. It's not as bad though and it will go away in due course.

I find it comes and goes. It will last for a few days and then not happen again for months. Leaning over sideways always makes it worse.
