I too have a Relvar Ellipta, highest dose, changed to that about 6 months ago. That too seems to be making a difference.

Unfortunately, too late for me to prevent osteoporosis. I've had it for the last twenty years and a recent Dexa scan showed more deterioration.
However, you have to weigh up all the risks. Without steroids, I would have been dead a long time ago. I'm still here, enjoying my life. smile Thank goodness for the NHS.

Good to hear that you're both doing well on this drug without any significant side effects. I feel quite reassured, thank you. I'm never keen on taking new drugs but my consultant suggested this along with Ellipta inhaler (a change from my Flutiform) I had so many infections last winter that I knew I had to try this. I'm trying to stay off steroids because off the osteoporosis risks. It's a constant juggling act isn't it?

I am on it too, 3 times a week for life. I have brittle asthma and bronchiectasis and have been taking it for about 4 years. As I have also rheumatoid arthritis, this is part of my regime to try and prevent any further lung damage.
It has certainly made a difference. I still have chest infections, but they are less severe and certainly less frequent.
In the event of a chest infection, I stop them and change to a stronger antibiotic and steroids.
I often experience side effects from my medication, but there have been none on this drug.

Yes, I am taking one Azithromycin250 every morning for a minimum of 18 months. I also take two other strong AB. I have asthma and mild bronchiectasis. The damage to my lungs has led to a bacterial infection (like a non-contagious TB). If I don't take this rather debilitating cocktail, my lung damage which is not too bad at the moment could become worse.

I don't have any experience of this katek but I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better on it!

I've been on this antibiotic for 4 weeks now at a frequency of 3 per week. It's early days but I think my chest is a lot more settled, less coughing and wheezing and improved exercise tolerance. It's a six month trial-just wondered if anyone has any experience of it.
