I do restance with bands, Pilates, and a few machines in the gym. Must admit I am seeing an improvement.

I do pilates and our exercises always include some that require us to raise ourselves on our arms and support ourselves there while we do other exercises. It works - and you strengthen every other muscle in the same session.

Not exactly lifting weights but I use machines at my gym that involves resistance weights. My arms, legs,bum and shoulders are much stronger and less flabby since I started. I only do it twice a week.

Yes I lift weights, physio has me lifting weights to get mobility back in my shoulder.

Sheila Hancock has taken up weight lifting at the grand age of 84 to improve her wasting arm muscles and says she loves it. Proper weights "at the end of a long pole" not a couple of baked bean tins which I occasionally use! Are there any Grans on GN who do this and if so, do you feel the benefit?
