Me too, had it for a week now, better but certainly not gone, now DH has it ( and is very grumpy!)
Hope you feel better soon tanith ?
We take Benelyn at night (chesty cough stuff) which is knock out drops and the other Benelyn that doesn’t make you drowsy for during the day.
The blue coloured Strepsils are also very good.

There was thread a few weeks ago about this awful cough and cold going around. It seems to last for around 3 to 4 weeks. We had it too. I can only suggest the usual cold remedies and let it run its course. I hope you make the trip to Edinburgh .. I hope it clears up soon for you

Commiserations to all you folk with the "bug." My DD is in the same boat - her flu has dragged on and on.

Come on sunshine! - time to put in an appearance and lift all our spirits!

Tanith My hubby has been suffering for the past two weeks and there seems to be no improvement at all,he has taken the usual flu type remedies but he feels so weak and the cough is awful he has problems sleeping lying down and has taken to sleeping upright in the big chair,as you say the Dr will not prescribe anything its just got to run its course.Fingers crossed for your trip I do hope you improve enough to go.

Thanks Nannie it's so annoying as I can't remember when I last had this type of thing it has to happen now.

Sorry to hear that Tanith I have no help to offer and think you may just have to deal with it. Admittedly I was suffering grief for the loss of my son but I developed a cough last September which lasted 3 months and I am still coughing up mucus occasionally. I heard that it was one of those things which was going around and lots of people were in a similar situation.

OH and I have had this blooming cold/cough virus thing for a week today, it's keeping us awake coughing, headache, sore throats you get the picture . On Monday I'm supposed to fly to Edinburgh with my daughter and granddaughter it's her joint 13th birthday present and honestly if I feel like this I don't think I'd be able to go. They probably throw me off the plane I'm coughing so much. So any tips that might speed up my recovery please? We've looked forwards to this 4 day trip for ages and we're all going to be so disappointed apart from the wasted money as I've already booked and paid for lots of visits and a spooky walk around the town.

Everyday this week I've thought I'll be better in the morning but no luck, this isn't Flu and I don't feel I can bother the doctor as there's nothing he can do that I'm not already doing.
Thanks
