MGUS

Bit of a flyer, has anyone heard of MGUS, or indeed been diagnosed with it? It's an acronym for Monoclonal Gammopathy of Undetermined Significance. It's an errant protein produced by the bone marrow, more prevalent as you get older and 1% of people with it progress to multiple myeloma though it's more complicated than that.

I've just been diagnosed with it through a blood test which was looking for other things, apparently that is how it's usually discovered. It is supposed to be symptomless though a patient group or two throws up a list of symptoms only too familiar to me - fatigue, aches and pains, feeling cold, neuropathy, reduced immunity leading to frequent infections, etc.

Anyone else on here with it or know anyone? Approaching my mid 60s, I thought I was doing well until now. Certainly focuses the mind!!
