Amiodarone

Hi, my mum has been prescribed amiodarone for her heart condition, she's 87, and quite frail and unwell, I've been reading the leaflet, which has quite frankly frightened me to death.Anybody else taking it ?

My husband was prescibed this for about a week after major surgery as his heart was fluttering out of normal rythym, he’s never had further problems in 3 years.
I hope your Mum will be fine, can you not ask her GP if you are worried.

Hi tanith, im not sure about asking the gp because it's the hospital consultant that's prescribed it.I've been reading up about it online, and it does say it should be started while the patient is in hospital due to adverse side effects.Think I'll put the laptop away for today .Thanks for replying.
