So, it seems that I have a cataract and need a surgery. Before making an appointment with an eye specialist, I need someone to help me with the doubts I am having in my mind.
I know, cataract is clouding of the lens (retina?) inside the eye and we usually replace it with an artificial lens.
But, I heard that cataract surgery may cause retinal detachment and dry eye in the patients. Also, the cloudy lens is broken into pieces with the help of an ultrasound device. To me, it seems like there are some risks involved in the procedure and I am worried because of the same.
Can someone please tell me whether cataract surgery is safe or not? And, can someone please suggest me any clinic that offers cataract surgery in Toronto for an affordable cost.
I am not covered by the way.
Thank you in advance.
Rachel.
