Holistic GP Appointment

Having a few niggles plus one diagnosed undelying condition I was wondering if it would save time/ money if we could have an annual "holistic" appointment with a GP. One could raise concerns about repeated symptoms, those moles you are not sure about etc. They all seem too minor to bother a GP with on their own but if there was an opportunity to discuss 2 or three worries ..which may be something or nothing... would it be more or less effective??

I don’t know if they still do, as thankfully I rarely go, but our surgery used to do a Well woman ( and well man) clinic which was just that weight, height, blood pressure etc etc and talk about any concerns

Why not see the nurse?

I had annual appointments to see the nurse for checks when my kidney function was not up to standard, but these stopped when my kidneys returned to a healthy level, so I asked if I could continue to have these check-ups, because I am fortunate to have very good health and otherwise rarely go near the surgery.

This was agreed and I now get an annual call in for routine checks and if I do have any queries these can be dealt with then.

Re the nurse practitioner appt. I understand that they have to recommended a doc appt. if you see them for more than a check up for condition a GP already knows about. I rarely go to GP and usually only at surgery for annual flu jab. I see my consultant regularly for the blood condition I have. I don't want to be a 'worried well' patient but equally do not want to leave something that could be significant! Was just wondering how others, managed.
