Ah, well, in that case, I have to say she didn't notice any improvement.
She may not be the best example to give though, because she was in terrible pain and had been for some years (without doing anything until it was too late, but that's a whole other story!)
The pen works by giving a small electrical current each time you press it, and it wasn't too expensive, so it may well be worth a try for specific areas.

I think this works by infra red heat but I'm not sure.

I use a TENS machine for my back pain on a regular basis, and it helps a lot, but I don't think this pen would do much good. The few 'shocks' it gives might help while you're actually using it, but I fear the pain relief would be very short lived!
If these were really good, I think the big TENS companies (such as Body Clock, who I use) would have started supplying them by now!

I am always hesitant to endorse a product. However, I do post on Gransnet about other stuff, so am responding genuinely.
I have arthritis that I usually manage with anti-inflammatories. Sometimes I get tendonitis (an inflammation of a tendon). I find the Paingone pen very good in those circumstances. It's easy to carry about. I think everyone has to work out the best circumstances for them to use it. I find it very specific to the area I use it, so it wouldn't help with general joint inflammation.
It doesn't completely remove the pain, and of course I am aware that I need to rest the tendon, but on some occasions hen I need to get through something, it has been very useful.
It is a simple way of carrying about a TENS machine, but targets small areas. I would use it by giving bursts along the tendon.
