Thank you shysal. It was suggested a while ago that I could have HALO surgery which I read up on, but after the sigmoidoscopy I fear the hems have to be taken out completely. Waiting to have an appointment with the consultant.

I had the same problem, causing severe anaemia. First they tried the 'banding' technique which was unsuccessful, then I had HALO surgery as a day patient (Google it). The info I had read claimed it was painless. This was far from true for me, but it was successful and well worth the uncomfortable recovery period due to mine being particularly bad. I hope you get sorted soon.
