I can totally imagine what you were going through minxie but so happy it turned out not to be serious . I know what you mean about the worry though. A few years ago (and just before Christmas) during a routine check up, my dentist commented on a raised crinkly patch on the side of my tongue . It was quite sore and irritating as it caught on my teeth. . He said he didn’t like the look of it and made an urgent referral to a specialist who I saw within 2 weeks . This was followed by several very nasty biopsies and stitches in my tongue so I couldn’t have my Christmas dinner ( not that I was eating at this point anyway). The best present I could have had was that in the first week of January I received a call from the consultant saying that the biopsies were clear and he suspected Geographical tongue. I had spent weeks rehearsing in my head not being able to talk or eat to the point of almost sending myself mad with fear . That feeling of being told it was all okay was like flying above the ground ! These days I now have a bit of a strange shaped tongue due to the bits they chopped off ( it doesn’t stop
me talking though) and have worked out that certain food stuffs irritate it more than others (humous being one ???) so I try to avoid them .
So happy for your good news
