We had wonderful news on Xmas day, daughter in law is 10 weeks pregnant. This morning I have been told another child whom was also here Xmas day has come out with chickenpox this morning. I don't think daughter in law and child touched but were in the same room. Daughter in law has been told today by the other parent. Know this can be a concern anyone else been in this situation.

Has your dil had chicken pox? That may make a difference.

My daughter had not had chicken pox (even though she was exposed to it as a child) and when she got married, I suggested she had a word with her doctor. He gave her a vaccination.

I hope someone has more knowledge to give you advice. If not, maybe she could contact her GP?

Did your DIL have chickenpox as a child? If she did she will be immune and then it is not a problem. Most children have had chickenpox.

Yes she (and foetus) immune providing she had it as a child or has been immunised. Good practice to mention it to her midwife though.
