Day after cataract operation

I agree with Mamissimo - tell your DD; your DH does need to rest (and will need his eye drops put in regularly after his cataract operation) so someone needs to be with him even if not with you - but I hope that someone in the family can be with each of you on that day.

Olive - firstly my best wishes for your DH’s eye op!

Having had this done myself I had to wear a quite large protective cover over my eye for 48 hrs afterwards, and at night for a further 5 days. When I took it off I could see much better but the shield made it hard to see to keep my footing accurately. That may be your opt out call for him because he won’t want to fall.

However, and it’s a big however, I think you should be honest with your DD. I don’t think she would feel good at all about you hiding things from her and she would feel so bad if she found out that you didn’t turn to her. Ask her - it’s what families are for!

When a relation of mine had a cataract operation, he felt rotten the next day. I don't wish your DH to feel ill but it could be he won't be up to coming with you.

This relation was told to rest and not keep looking at books or TV so maybe you could tell your DH it just isn't wise for him to accompany you.
