I have had a bunion for years - even underwent surgery on it once but it's back and worse than ever. As a result I have hammer toes, and really thick nails which - as my toes are curling under - can make walking very painful sometimes. Last year I treated myself to a chiropodist appointment and have been going every 8 weeks ever since as my feet feel wonderful for about the first 3 weeks, then it gradually starts to hurt again.
I always wore "sensible" shoes - have not worn high heels in many years, and now mainly spend my life in either open sandals with velcro straps in the summer or trainers in the winter! Of course the chemo I've been having hasn't helped and now all my nails are hard, lumpy or beginning to drop off, so NOT a pleasant sight!
Silly First World Problem ( bothering me)
Have you ever 'googled' yourself?
