Yiayia4, my sympathies. There is a major dilemma for my surgeon, as I have Scoliosis which has worsened greatly since he last saw me, and he is very unsure about doing this Laminectomy surgery as it could well cause the Scoliosis to worsen far quicker as a result. He has gone off to have a long hard think about it and to consult with spinal surgeon colleagues. We see him again in 6 weeks, after I've seen my hip/knee surgeon, had an ankle MRI and investigation for Polymyalgia Rheumatica as ESR is very high and have an urgent appointment with my Rheumatologist. I don't hold out much hope as we could see how shocked he was at the Scoliosis deterioration, so I feel very unsure if he is so unsure!
I have not been offered Spinal injections, but am going to ask about these, as have had successful steroid injections and nerve block ones elsewhere - Si joints, hips, knees, ankle, occipital and trigeminal region, and even gynae ones!
Do you see an Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon or a Neurologist for your Spinal Stenosis?
Good Luck with getting your injections and hope they give you relief.
