Torn Tendon in Shoulder (Bursitis)

Every sympathy- that has been my my problem ever since last Summer - varying diagnoses of bursitis, frozen shoulder, osteoarthritis, torn tendon (apparently they “pop” very easily as we age) atrophied muscle and rotator cuff injury. I also had an x ray and CT scan.
Not sure your bursitis and torn tendon are the same (having googled!) but may be linked.
Frankly my first injection did nothing, then a second from a different doctor (and much less painful) made a huge difference. I used to sleep with a disposable Deep Heat pad stuck to my shoulder or sometimes a Deep Freeze pad. Sleeping with a pillow tucked under the affected arm and obviously lying on the other side helped too. I used 24 hour Voltarol cream but had to abandon Naproxen as it was going for my stomach.
I think I know just how you are feeling and one year on things are considerably better but I still can’t reach behind my back to do up my bra and putting coats or jackets on is painful. And I still tend to reach for things with the other hand
Physio didn’t help much so good luck with the acupuncture .

Hi, just wondering if anyone on here has had a torn tendon and how long it took to recover. Also what they found worked best. Mine started about 12 weeks ago. Had ultrasound and x-ray. Have physio once a week and do the exercises everyday. Had cortisone injection about5 weeks ago and it hasn't done anything for the pain. Saw different GP as mine away and asked for referral for second cortisone injection (I was told by doctor who did original injection I might need another) She refused. saying I had to be patient! Unfortunately the pain is making me quite miserable, trying to do more with left hand and arm but now worried if I put too much strain on 'good' side it could have a detrimental effect, Have made appointment to see my GP on his return - in 4 weeks - but am seeing acupuncturist tomorrow for possible pain relief. Never had acupuncture but hoping it works. It's the little things that are getting me down, like pulling up my knickers, so hard one handed! Hoping someone on here knows of a treatment that works. Apologies for this post being a bit long winded.
