This horrid heat

No heat as such near the Mersey as there's been a cold damp mist hovering. I've had a jumper or cardigan on !
Inland it's bound to be different and London especially where you have weather coming across from Europe.

We in the North West get the Atlantic coldness. It's only 19 degrees where I am with 85% humidity, the humidity being that damp mist and not the heat kind.

Thank you i will try these links. Im just so fed up with everyone sniping at each other. I went to norway last year in the spring lovely snow on the mountains and nice warm sun no unbearable heat. As some say we dont get much thats why we arent used to it here in newcastle

etheltbags1 You have my sympathy. The heat makes me feel so ill and nauseous - and grumpy! I fill a spray bottle with water and keep spraying myself all day, which helps keep me almost sane.

A bit late for this year, but there are some special little 'towels' that you can buy that are microfibre and you wet them, then shake them and voila, instant cool cloth to put around your neck or wherever. I bought them on eBay last year, here's a link:

There are cheaper ones available.

i wouldnt complain about the heat .soon we be shivering . i dont really like the very hot heat. but it boosts my vitamin D up. take the kids to the seaside ON A TRAIN. not a car.....or go to the nearest paddling pool/lido/ or just to a park./ go by bus or train.theres only a few more weeks till school goes back...was going up charity shop but now putting pc away and going OUT............

What heat! OK so we've had a couple of sunny days here in the NW but not exactly an extended heatwave! And this lovely weekend came after almost a month of heavy rain and floods.

Maybe I need to move away from Manchester?

You’re lucky, down here in Cornwall we had rain yesterday and today cool and overcast. Not so good for the tourists cramming the beaches. I’ve got my thick fleece on,

Sorry it's giving you problems. It can be uncomfortable sleeping etc but personally I love it. We get so little of it.

I apologise if there is another thread about this. How is anyone standing the heat. None of our family can sleep. Were all grumpy with each other. I cant wear even minimal make up i cant mix face cream with sweat. Im sticky with factor 50 all over. My t shirts are are all stained. I had about 2 hours sleep last night. I m working today after 5 hpurs of looking after a cross 6 year old. Cant stand being in my car. I cant understand how anyone can go abroad seeking heat. Anyone got any ideas before i just curl up and fry
