Hello all, good wishes to you, and would appreciate some sent in my direction!

Cataract procedure booked for 1.30 tomorrow, will be leaving home around 11.30 (Plymouth isn't exactly next door, and I hate being late!)

Thank you so much to all that posted on my other threads on this topic, your posts were very reassuring and much appreciated.

I'm currently feeling pretty ok about it, but will probably get a bit nervy nearer the time!

Concerned about Mr P, he will have to be occupied while I'm in there, so have loaded a book into my Kindle for him!

More supportive vibes coming your way from me.
On Tuesday I am going with my neighbour for her second eye. She was very nervous for the first, but it went so well that she has no qualms this time.
I looks forward to hearing that all went swimmingly for you. flowers

No-one could have been more nervous than DH as he can't bear anyone to touch his eyes but he was absolutely fine, phoenix and now reassures anyone who is going to have this operation.

Good luck and don't forget your sunglasses

All will be well phoenix. A friend who is a serious wimp was delighted how quick and painless the procedure was. In fact she still tells everyone months later hmm. You’ll be fine and Mr P won’t have much reading time. Good wishes to you.

Bellanonna Fri 27-Sept-19 21:49:34

Good luck! I might be asking for your advice before too long!

Urmstongran Fri 27-Sept-19 21:46:07

Good luck phoenix I’m sure it’ll go well. Do come back soon and let us know!

Septimia Fri 27-Sept-19 21:45:40

With any luck you'll be out before Mr P has read more than a couple of pages.

When my DH took FiL he couldn't believe how quick it was - he'd barely had time to sit down. Even my friend, who had complicated cataracts, was done within an hour.

Afterwards, if you feel like sneezing, try tickling the roof of your mouth with the tip of your tongue.

Hope all goes well!

Oopsminty Fri 27-Sept-19 21:45:33

All the best!

phoenix Fri 27-Sept-19 21:39:03

Thanks all!

miilymouge I have read about the not sneezing thing, trouble is, I'm very prone to sneezing, and when I do sneeze, it tends to be BIG!

gallusquine Fri 27-Sept-19 21:28:41

Good Luck flowers

millymouge Fri 27-Sept-19 21:28:33

Had both of mine done and although I wasn’t looking forward to it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It’s actually over quite quickly and well worth it. Have to be a bit carefully afterwards and I was told to avoid sneezing, not as easy as you would think.

mcem Fri 27-Sept-19 21:26:02

Good luck. Looking forward to reading your next post saying all's well and that you won't worry at all next time.

Willow500 Fri 27-Sept-19 21:21:53

Good luck - my friend had both hers done and now doesn't need her distance glasses any more.
