annie hope it’s not presumptuous of me to start the thread but I appear to have closed the last one and didn’t want to leave anyone with no where to go.
Welcome all x

lavenderzen

There is freedom waiting for you,
On the breezes of the sky,
And you ask "What if I fall?"
Oh but my darling,
What if you fly?”
― Erin Hanson

I have always loved poetry , since I was a child, I hope I don’t
post poems too often ,

nanny you charm cats x

EMDR is a therapy for trauma, PTSD nanny, I doubt it would work for depression, don’t know about anxiety I will
find out.

lavenderzen Tue 25-Feb-20 21:45:16

Hello everyone xx
Winter is truly here, snow and hail storms today.

Hope everyone is ok. Nanny Marshall is lovely and now you have more, he brings his friends home! Glad you are feeling better.

I have never had any therapy as such, I have medication for anxiety. I am interested to hear what others have had.
Annie your poetry is uplifting, I loved the one about falling and "you might fly". I can't find it now but I did copy it down.

Hope everyone is well, love to all xx

nanny2507 Tue 25-Feb-20 21:31:26

What's EMDR annie xx

nanny2507 Tue 25-Feb-20 21:30:34

Hello nonnie so lovely to see your name xxx I am so much better thank you a couple of niggles hanging around but not major.
Marshall and fat cat have bought another stray home!! This is the 3rd one in a year. It's all black and very nervous of me but I,m going out every night wind or rain to feed it and have a chat. It recognises my voice now but I have to stand back while it eats. I want it to trust me as it has a little sore on its head. If it gets worse I will have to trap it but I'll see how it goes xx

Anniebach Tue 25-Feb-20 21:29:47

Hi all x

nonnie, hope you enjoyed you trip out x

Quiet today, hope all is well. I am late, my younger granddaughter turned up today, wonderful surprise.

I mentioned I am having EMDR therapy. There are many
therapies available now, not all on the NHS.

CBT. Mindfulness. Applied Relaxation . Hypnotherapy.
and more.

Anyone had experience of these or any other ? Did it help?

When I think back to when I has severe PND and was treated in hospital treatments were medication usually Valium, and
God forbid, Electric Shock Treatment.

Nonnie Tue 25-Feb-20 10:12:53

annie I must have expressed myself badly! Not complaining about the rugby, simply showing my ignorance grin

Hope joce & Doodle are having a good time, Salsa enjoying her job and that nanny gets better soon.

I will continue to try to add a positive note when I can. Today is glorious so I am getting a bus into town rather than walk as I have a big bag of books for the charity shop. Only a small step towards reducing the excess 'stuff' but it all helps.

Hope you all have a sunny day too.

Anniebach Mon 24-Feb-20 17:21:43

Hi nonnie sorry about the rugby, we are rather elated that
joce has gone on holiday to Florida , Doodle is taking a
holiday too, SalsaQueen has started a new job , nanny has been most unwell. You will have missed much as you have been away for a few months.

So the rugby was a little light relief.

Nonnie Mon 24-Feb-20 16:37:18

Hi all, been of GN for some months now so not up to date with any of you. Only read last page which seems to be all about rugby of which I know nothing!

Will try to come on more and keep up with you all.

SalsaQueen Mon 24-Feb-20 16:28:03

Anniebach I've never tried, or been offered, EMDR, but I'm glad it's helped you.

Joce It sounds as though you're having a great time. Good. smile

Nanny So glad you're feeling a lot better.

I hope everyone is having a decent day. I started the school meals delivery job today - I was told it would take 1.5 - 2 hours, but it actually took 40 minutes, as I live so close to both schools (one at the end of my road), so that worked out extremely well! £16 for that, each day, which is great smile

Love to everyone x

nanny2507 Mon 24-Feb-20 16:07:00

Lovely to hear from you dawn x

joce have a wonderful time
* doodle* salsa french bluesky flutter lavender sharon rafic and annie hope you are all well. ( sorry if I missed anyone) xx

Anniebach Mon 24-Feb-20 14:10:32

Hi all x

Would anyone like to give an opinion on any therapy received ?

I recently had sessions with an EMDR therapist, definitely helped with PTSD . I don’t know if it helps with depression but if past trauma is affecting you do read up on it.

Anniebach Sun 23-Feb-20 21:23:51

rafichagran pain does drag us down, I avoid things I
should do and want to do because of pain. Being stupid because I need to move more because of muscle wastage but when every step hurts ! It’s easier for me because I live alone, I
don’t have to consider anyone . I hope it eases soon for you x

rafichagran Sun 23-Feb-20 19:15:31

Sorry to hear you have that anxiety Dawn it can take over and it makes you feel exhausted.
Glad you are enjoying Florida Jose
Annie I can understand you and David are unhappy.
Back to work tommorow for 3 days as I am partially retired. Leg still hurting alot, I am very tired. I pushed myself today. I have cleaned, driven to town to get essentials, ironed sheets, walked to ease the pain, and washed up after my partner made dinner. It's the pain bringing me down and thank goodness for my small dose of citalapram to ease these feelings of I just dont want to bother.
I wish everyone a good week and hope things are easier for you all.

Anniebach Sun 23-Feb-20 16:50:40

Joce yes Florida , I shouldn’t post after a rugby match, sorry.
Keep flying . X

You met Pooh Bear ? I love Pooh, love Pooh Quotes .
One for all of us

Pooh and Piglet walking through a storm, Piglet fears a tree
blowing

‘Piglet’. What if it falls ?

‘Pooh’ ‘what if it doesn’t?’

A great whatifery for us all x

Dawn22 Sun 23-Feb-20 08:45:47

sharon103 Sun 23-Feb-20 00:55:07

Just popping in to say a warm hello to all you lovely ladies.
I've not forgotten you dear Annie. I have just been reading the last couple of pages and must go back further another day.
My elder brother is in hospital still and has been for the last nearly six weeks and have been visiting almost every day. Bless him , he had to spend his 80th birthday in there but we made it a lovely day for him. We couldn't light the candles on his cake though as now he is in a small room on his own, the smoke alarms being very sensitive would go off and the sprinklers would come on.
Wishing for sunny day's soon for you all.
Annie, I'm not giving up on you. Soon be Spring and I'll be giving you a little nudge. smile xxxx Night night.

Grandmafrench Sat 22-Feb-20 23:31:13

Thanks Annie. Very sorry, David - it can't be good for your little legs having to sit through all that stress!
You'll be a bit cheered to know (I hope) that had it gone the other way, the local French would have said 'well played, Pays de Galles', whilst making an effort to hide many gritted teeth.
Hope you've all had a good day and that the kindness and positivity will continue to help everyone in need of understanding, comfort - and reassurance that they're not alone.
Good night, a virtual cwch to you and David.

Anniebach Sat 22-Feb-20 22:33:07

lavenderzen I too receive help from all here. It is a haven of
peace and I think this is needed, we know we are not judged ,
nothing we say is dismissed , we all understand and I believe this is needed, we can express our feelings, our worries, and we are here for each other . X

lavenderzen Sat 22-Feb-20 22:16:09

Annie you have helped so many with your words of encouragment, me included; it is a haven of peace here and what each and everyone of us needs. Thank you xxx
Best wishes to Joce, I have followed your story, and also to rafichafra I hope your pain is easing. To all others here take care, one step at a time xxx

Anniebach Sat 22-Feb-20 22:06:41

Hi all x
I am late joining you today. Needless to say David the daffodil
is not a happy daffodil, not only did he have to put up with
being gripped by the legs he had to listen to my rendering of
*Myfanwy’ instead of ‘Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau’ ?, well played
France (gritted teeth) sorry Grandmafrench x

For those who joined Black Dog after Joce , she is an amazing gal, she had battles to cope with but this week she is
in France , Joce you did fly my love ? x

rafichafran yes I agree, if only we could all live our lives like that, but we can try, if we fall pick ourselves up again , not easy
but we can try x

In my little book of encouragement verses , ‘ you are only a
failure if you see yourself as one ‘.

No failures here. X

Joce345 Sat 22-Feb-20 14:51:17

Yes Annie we do all give. but I am sure there are some on hear that will agree with me when I say you have been our back bone on hear... I sure I have to say how grateful I am for your support..

Off to enjoy the day.
Flutterbyl not seen Snow White yes but I will say hi from you hehe

rafichagran Fri 21-Feb-20 22:35:33

Yes Annie It reminds me of the Bob Marley song ' 3 Little Birds ''Dont worry about a thing cause every little thing will be alright'. If only we all could live our lives to the words of that song.

Grandmafrench Fri 21-Feb-20 22:34:36

Love the sentiment of the poem, Anniebach. If you and your Daffodil friend shout loud enough tomorrow, I may just hear you. I shall be shouting for France, even though my long-gone Stepfather had some Welsh caps! Here in Southern France, everyone is so fanatical about Rugby, and kind, so I have divided loyalties now. (A bit!)
Rafichagran. You're welcome. Hope that your partner is healing and more comfortable and that your Sciatica is giving you some peace. Awful thing to suffer, and affects everything you try to do. Anti-inflammatories eventually give most of us problems with our digestive system, especially if you have some other stomach condition, they are almost more trouble than they are worth. I used to have an excellent Osteopath and some good exercises to stretch the sciatic nerve, but it can drive you nuts and make you low in spirits. Hope you get some relief soon.
Goodnight all, rest, heal and get strong.
