Why so sad, it must be very lonely.

I do try to be positive but thought this thread was also for us to share our feelings. Mothering Sunday is hard for me and I'm sure for many others too.

I'm confused now as the news may be contributing to some people's anxiety. Have I missed something?

Mothering Sunday can bring much joy but for some it can bring sorrow. I am so sorry you have no contact with your
daughter, I trust you know she is well ?

Your elder son, has his abruptness been recent ? You say ages
do you mean weeks or months ? He may be going through a
stressful time. You have depression, this can cause things to
be even blacker . Are you having medical support ?
Sorry to ask so many questions, just trying to get a clearer
understanding.
Post when ever you need , there is always someone here and we all care for you and each other .

*How is everyone? I haven't posted lately because all the Coronavirus news has been so depressing. I've been having palpitations every night and waking several times throughout the nights.

However, it's been gorgeous weather here in Nottingham, so I changed the beds, got the washing on the line, got some shopping from Morrison's, and made a huge curry. on no. 1 lives here. of course, and son no. 2 came round (both sons have been working from home all week) and we had this curry and some cake, they gave me cards and flowers.

Son no. 1 has gone out for a walk, son no. 2 gone home (3 mins drive away), so I'm relaxing, watching the cat lounging in the sunshine.

Back to work tomorrow - I think it's just a matter of time before they tell me to stay at home (Warden of sheltered housing scheme) but I won't be visiting any of the residents. My school meals delivery is going ahead, as the school I deliver to is a special needs one, so will be open.

I've seen my family today, DS & DiL through the front window on the phone at the time. Other family had a long Skype. I do hope we will all meet up again soon. I could really do with a hug from them.

Mothering Sunday is a bitter sweet time for many of us (I understand Nonnie) for many reasons xx
I think about my Mum, who came through two world wars, adopted me as a baby and was the kindest most loving person you could ever wish to meet. Thank you Mum for everything you did for me always in my thoughts.

I didn’t see anyone today, younger daughter telephoned, she is
upset the parcel and card she sent by courier on Tuesday didn’t arrive.

This will sound cruel , I was disappointed and relieved, the
pain of one card not two hurts so much.

My son in law took flowers to the vase with my darling elder
daughters name on it which is placed on her fathers grave, he sent me a photograph. My grandchildren sent me messages.

I am sure we all thought of our mothers today.

Good thing for today - I had a walk in the sunshine and although chilly it was nice to have some fresh air. I have done little else but will make a determined effort tomorrow to get some sorting out done.

Hello all. I have had a sewing day today. Cheerfully cutting pieces and sewing them together until I found out I had 15 pieces instead of the 16 I needed. Slight panic and a rummage through the rubbish bin until I found a few scraps of the right material then I had to sew it together to make the final piece. Looks a bit odd but I don’t think anyone will notice ?

We have a pair of mating geese on our lawn (well I think the deed has been done, not that they are doing it now ). They come to the same place every year. I look forward to the arrival of the goslings. Spring is coming.
Try and keep your spirits up everyone. We are all in this together. I am going to listen to the Archbishop of Canterbury’s service on the radio now as no church today.

If your usual routine has been limited how are you adjusting ?

*lavenderzen8 Thank you. The special needs school where I deliver meals to is open - 2 children, 6 staff! The school that actually cooks the meals (also special needs) had ONE pupil, 4 teachers (why?), 2 dinner ladies (again, why?)

Mr Cooper is happy, thanks. He got into bed with me at 4am, but is asleep on a chair at present. He's having some of our roast beef tonight .

all on here I hope today is a better day for everyone. Even though there is all this madness going on in the world, we can be here for each other.

I'm happier today, as I've been back in my work routine (both jobs still open at the moment)

us who have anxiety, depression etc the news is feeding it.

Hello annie and all. What a strange world we are in at the moment. But we are all in it together so must support each other.
DH is on the shielded list so I have spent most of today cleaning again. Door knobs and handles and all the things you touch during a normal day. Don’t know if it will help but it makes me feel better.
annie I agree with you. We all know what is happening in the world and we all have families and others to worry about. Best we concentrate on supporting each other? I know it is a worrying time but we have to try and follow the guidelines and hope it will pass.
My hands are sore with all this washing so I am putting on lots of hand cream. I got a couple of big bags of carrots delivered tonight so I am going to blanch them and put them in the freezer. Actually not quite sure how I will accomplish that. Our freezer is small and at the moment resembles a holiday suitcase. I need someone to sit on it so I can squash some more in ?

Hope everyone is doing alright in these very strange times.
I have done very little today although did have a walk with my four legged friend, it was quite chilly but very pleasant, I may try a little further tomorrow. I have had a call from the surgery and my pain relief has been increased so hopefully I may be able to do a bit of knitting when it kicks in. I also tried to get a slot on Tescos for a home delivery, but I couldn't get on to the site at all and kept getting the 502 Gateway message. Anyway no worries I will try again at some point, I have plenty in.

I thought earlier on, I like our little menagerie on here (not us, the pets ) we have Fatboy, Mr Cooper, Joce's little mischief upside down in the cup, Binks - who is in the B&B run by Nanny for strays, and my little monster who leads me a merry dance most days! It can't all be bad!

Bluesky we will get through all this together. Annie, Salsa, Joce, Nonnie, Nanny, Raficha, Doodle, Flutterby, Dawn, whywhywhy and the others I have missed out, let us come together to keep on keeping on. This little gang means so much to me and all of you.

Anniebach - I still have my daughter’s two girls to stay from time to time and they tell me that their mam (my daughter) is well. I have contact with them through her ex husband.

Yes, everything does seem worse with my depression but my eldest son has been distant for the last two months and I don’t know why. No Mother’s Day card or text or phone call. I realise with the coronavirus the card might be difficult but a text or a phone call wouldn’t have hurt him. I certainly didn’t get a card from my daughter and nor did I expect a one. It’s now over 5 years since I’ve seen or spoke to her. So sad.

I did get a lovely card and some tulips from my youngest son who is back home for the duration of this virus.

No medical support at the moment. I have had 2 bouts of counselling a number of years ago. The last time I saw a dr he wasn’t very sympathetic. I don’t want to take medication but I think it is coming to that.

My anxiety is sky high this morning, didn’t get much sleep.. i think there will be a few of us like this today.. DH has put my hot tub on think I will be spending a few hours in it over the coming day.. stay safe all

Enjoy your hot tub Joce hopefully it will relax you. We are all having wobbles at the moment, it's understandable but we will get there together. I was like you doing my usual 4 a.m. worrying, then couldn't go back to sleep. I had some toast and marmalade. I wondered about grandmafrench also.
